Send the Edge back?
Ok here is my situation. I recieved my Edge last Tuesday from Autoanything.com, I tried to install the edge and run lvl2...No dice, so I tried lvl1 and lvl3. Still nothing. All of the gauges work correctly but I cannot program my truck. Any time I plug the Edge into the obd(with the key on) It says a previous programming session has failed press any key to return to stock. When I push a button it says this programmer is locked to another vehicle. So after 3 calls to Edge I find out that they have a problem with the Edge reading and calculating checksum files and they do not know when they will have and update available; but when the update is ready and i download it to my Edge it will program my truck no problem. When I asked about returning my unit Edge said go ahead and do it but the new one will most likely give me the same problems. WTF my truck is an 05, i thought only the 07 had problems. So my question is do I return and get my money back, exchange for a different unit, or just hold on to mine and hope they come out with an update? I want to know what you guys would do if you were in my shoes. I am absolutly positive I installed the Edge correctly, and this was confirmed by the Edge tech who i spent 45min on the phone with. I have untill 4-16 to decide what to do, Thank you for your opinoins

My truck was flashed but it was way back in November. I took it in for the TSB on the harsh 3-2 downshift. Bluejay could this really be a problem. I read almost every post you lay in here and find them to be very informative

Well, those who "know" me, would have no trouble deducing what I would do

IF you can get a FULL refund, invest that into an XcalII.
If not, I wouldn't expect you take the hit. I'd then use the guage package and wait.
Third option would be to sell it in the Classifieds, as you may get more than you paid for it since the price went up. However, it needs to be fully functional & returned to stock so the buyer would not get burned.

send it back and get another one! just because something was bought and it was defective doesn't mean to just take it back and think it's junk. how many times have you bought something and have a problems with it? if you just bought a new truck and it had a problem would to go back to the dealer and say you don't want it because it broke! nope you would let them repair it! Thats why they have a warranty! not everything made is perfect all the time! send it back and get a new one!
I recently purchased a Edge evo for my 2004. I installed mine right out of the box. The install was going good until it went to rewrite my pcm. If i'm not mistaken the error that I got was a checksum error(if my memory serves me right). I had to update mine before it would load a program. I used the lightning 3 software that came with the edge to update it. I download firmare: v2.50.1912 and Calibration: v1.0.1941(both the latest releases). After the update it loaded fine and I could tell noticeable difference in the throttle response and firmer shifts on level 2.
Only problem i've had with mine is MAYBE a loose connection to the edge display. Sometimes while driving the gauges disappear and it shows my hex code and it wants me to press enter. I took it out of the pod and wiggled the connection and all seems to be fine to date. I've had the edge for about 2 weeks now with no mechanical problems.

Heres the deal. I called Autoanything.com and was on hold for about 15 minutes. A rep picked up and in less than 2 minutes I was told a brand new Edge was on the way, along with a prepaid postage stamp to mail the fuged one back! Talk about customer service, anyways the new one is being shipped tomorrow 4-12 so i should get it next Tuesday
. If the new Edge doesnt work on my truck than TP will be getting a call from me.

After taking a couple of minutes to think about things ive come to the conclusion mabey the edge is fine and my truck is fuged. So I called my dealer and they will Reflash my truck for $49.50. If I do this do i have to wait awhile to try to reinstall the edge???
