Question Edge Level 2 or 3 On HWY ?

I drive a 99 F-150, 5.4, 4X4 and was wondering what setting is better for fuel econonmy on the HWY? I currently have it set on level 3 but was wondering if 2 would be better on gas if i was on the HWY. Your answers are greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance.

Jeff

Your truck may perform differently than mine, but for me, Level 3 works best on the highway, both performance and economy. Level 2 has more low end torque and works better around town, but runs out of steam at higher rpms. Level 3 has a much higher rpm range of response. My truck needs it for passing at higher speeds. You will need to try both to see how your truck responds. Hope this helps.

I also like the level 3 on the highway, but fuel around here is $.20 higher for 91 octane. So it's more expensive in the long run for me.

its 20 cents a gallon higher here as well, but I get just over 1 mile per gallon better mileage, so it more than pays for itself.

I never change mine from level 3. I hardly ever put 93 octane in it. But at the moment I'm running 96 octane.

So what do you usually use then? You say you use 96 right now. The most i can get is 91 in most places. One place has 93 but that has ethonal in it, don't know if that will hurt it.

It's all in the owners manual, bro. I'd read up on it if I were you. It's always good to know what's in the manual without having to look it up every time you have an issue, in other words, memorize it.

Does the manual say anthing about running fuel with ethonal in it?? Just wondering if that affects anything.

I don't think so. They are more concerned with the octane rating of the fuel in their different levels like any of the tuner manufacturers.

So if I can get 91 or 93 it won't matter if it has ethonal or not?? I don't remember. Do I have to have 91 or 93?? I just ordered my Evo and isn't here yet. Just wondering.

Level 3 is a 91 octane tune, but you can adjust the timing for the 93 octane fuel. You can run 93 in level 2 as well, just adjust the timing. The amount of timing to add for each ocatne is listed in the manual.

Changing levels while driving

Is it ok to change from level 2 to level 3 while driving? Say level 2 around town then switch to 3 when getting on the freeway.
