Edge Evolution Flash

Wondering what to do when I bring my truck in for service. Should I just reset to factory setting or should I unplug the unit too? I read that if they flash the computer it could mess up the Edge.
Thanks for any info.

Any time they are going to do more than change the oil and rotate the tires, I return to stock. If they mess with your computer while you are on a tune, you will be screwed.

I always return the truck to stock and remove the EDGE no matter what the dealership is doing. No since in taking a chance on a "stealth" reflash or giving them any excuse to cause grief over having a tuner.

So just go into the settings and return to factory settings and unplug?
When I plug it back in is there anything special I need to do or just put it back to the setting I had before?
Thanks

You go back into program and select (0) Stock Program and hit enter. It reloads your stock program to your truck. You can remove the module or leave it. I leave mine since I am out of warranty anyhow. Then when I get the truck back, I go to whatever level i want to. If you will check the manual, it tells you to do all of this anytime you go to the dealer.

Be sure and return to stock first though. The real danger is them deciding to do you a "favor" for some reason and reflash your computer, It happened with me, thankfully I had returned to stock. I have a suspicion that they were intentioanlly trying to mess me up.

Suggestion of burning of few tanks of normal gas at the "stock setting" is a good idea too.

Something about the truck's "learning feature" (which I understand is based on the last 500 miles driven).

Always remove the Edge...here in Kalifornia most super chips are illegal...so, poof goes the warranty if you are not careful.

That is only important if they are going to be checking emissions. Not necessary if you are just going in for normal service like an oil change. When I had my truclk in for the state inspection, I returned it to stock several days prior to taking it in so it would have several drive cycles on the stock tune. That was the time they messed with my computer and changed the program. My Edge picked it up when I tried to reprogram.
