Edge with a 4.6

Does anyone with a 2004-2007 4.6 L have an Edge installed. I have read what people say about them on the 5.4 but was wanting to get some opinions from poeple with the same engine.
1) Was it worth it?
2) Can you tell a big difference in power or gas mileage?

and whatever else you think would be useful to know.

Thanks

I'm curious about that too.

I think I remember seeing their information said it might have a slight power/torque gain on the 4.6 but it's not near the numbers of the 5.4.

Your shifting points would be something it would handle even if you didn't get much increased engine output.

I'd like to 3rd that question. Have an 07 with 4.6 and am extremely on the fence about a programmer. I read somewhere that Edge adds 9hp to a 4.6L. 300-400 bucks for 9 horsepower seems like one could do better with e-fans and underdrive pulleys or something. Would really like some info from someone who has taken the plunge.

Well, i guess none of the Edge owners have a 4.6L. Well, is there anyone from 97-03 with a 4.6 and Edge? Any opinions would be greatly appreciated.

Goslow,

I've had mine for close to a year now and I'm pleased (for now) with the HP gain. I love the fact that the shifting and acceleration is much better (Lvls 2-3) Just my opinion

I have an 05 with the 4.6 motor and got the edge for Christmas from the old lady. I got it mostly for the gauges as they are highly valuable when towing and what-not. I also love the fact that you can change shift points and firmness and also adjust for the tire size. As for HP gain, you will notice a difference but its not gonna throw you back in your seat. I mostly feel the difference when I am crusing about 30 MPH and then wail on it. You can feel there is more HP generated. I believe it's more of an overall performance that I feel I have gained from the unit. I recommend it, but that's just my personal opinion. I have heard the 5.4s make more power difference when compared to the numbers of the 4.6s and the power difference.

I am hopefully going to be adding efans and pulleys this summer as I think this will also add to the performance of the truck and having the edge with these mods will just make it that much better. If I didn't need/want the gauges, I would have gone efans and pulleys first, then gone with a programmer.

got one to on my 2006 f150, on level three running middle grade you can really feel the shifts and it was worth it to take the 94 mph speed and rev limiter off. Still cuts me off at 120 now kinda scary going that fast in the truck tho.
