Well guys Im sorry I cant report the same love fest as you. My request is a fairly simple one. You may or may not believe the responses I have gotten from Troyer but what do I have to gain by lying. You say I havent answered any questions, well how about mine. HOW LONG WOULD YOU WAIT FOR SERVICE? I will repeat it again, IF I didnt give them something they needed they should have called.

Crafter: You STILL haven't answered my question about how long it was between receiving your tunes and when you sent the datalog information back in. Your original purchase requires the datalog info to be sent back within 60 days (this is stated on the last page of the datalog parameters sent by TP).

Now, if you really do have detonation, you need to return the truck to stock. Take off the AF1 air intake and put the stock one back on, then reload the stock tune as per the instructions that came with the XCal2. You can still run the exhaust, e-fans & pulleys with the stock tune. Check and see if that solves the knock problem.

Also, I wouldn't expect your MPG to increase if you accelerate more often and/or harder than before (very easy to do with the new tunes). Remember, at best we're only talking 1, maybe 2 MPG if you baby it.

If it were me, I'd be calling way more than once per week (you said you called 6 times over 10 weeks). I'd be on the phone every morning and again at 4:45pm to check what was going on. No effing way would I accept spending $1700 to end up with engine knock. Actually, the fact that you aren't more upset about your truck, just that you supposedly haven't gotten good service makes me wonder. When mine ran rich I called several times and even got Mike on the phone and talked with him until I was satisfied with what was going to be done. Within 72 hours I had a new tune in my in-box. Pretty good service IMO.

Call them right now and let us know exactly what they say.

To answer your question about how long you should have to wait... well some members have waited well over 2 months for their orders... If everything you say is true, I'd have returned everything and demanded a refund... but I don't really believe you're giving us the whole story here.

Hey Guys,

Wow, what a thread!

Just a few details - Brad, first of all, is a nice guy - so let's not be too hard on him.

He got his tunes in June, we got his data 4 months later, in October - and his data looks perfectly fine. The A/F's are in the mid 11's by the way, not 13's or 14's, except where they should be, which is in closed loop.

Long story short, there *was* a slight problem in his tuning that had nothing to do with A/F's, and we have already taken care of that for him, with the new tunes already emailed out to him.

He had a minor problem with pinging at lower rpms, and only at a certain throttle position - above or below that, no problem - and his truck is making great power.

Anyway, Brad & I spoke at length today about this, and we both managed to have a good laugh from all of this, and we made a very minor change to one area of his tunes, which will take care of the occasional pinging problem he had - it was a simple typo in my part, so it was easy to fix, and I'm sure he'll be happy with the results. We spoke at length today, and as I usually do, I enjoyed speaking with him again - he's a real snowmobile performance nut, so we tend to speak the same language.

And with that, mystery solved, so let's get on to more productive things, & thanks for everyone's input.

I have read this thread and have to laugh why....well first after all this the tuner has never made a statement here. 2nd the administrator should have made a good faith effort to contact the paying sponsor for the fact of a member who has bought from the vendor who has paid to advertise to be here in getting bad service if which could hurt the sponsor's sales. IMO

why would anyone pay even 500+ for a tune which delivers about 20-30hp..have you guys herd of mega squirt A nice $300 stand alone chip with free updates and can have real timing data logging in which trips to a dyno is obsolete

Do What??, you need to do some research, the fact of you stating anything on putting a stand alone chip on a CAD-CAN PCM on 04+ F150...well, that tells me one thing...you have no clue what you are talking about....

F150 guys, Mike and I spoke at length today and he is sending the new tunes. He explained in full detail what he was correcting and assured me I would see an immediate difference. His knowledge is vast and at times can almost make your head spin. I am glad we can finally put this behind us and I can now focus on how far I am going to have to drive to find some good snow and ice!

The only thing that kept buggin me was you just were not cuttin loose of any info so Marc or someone else could help out, kinda hit me little wrong!!
Watch out for barns, and fencing with barbwire on the snow.

As for that good snow and ice, I'd be loading those new tunes and heading west. Here in Wisconsin the grass is starting to green up, and my buddy who very recently went snow boarding in the UP reported less than 12 inches on the ski slopes and obviously next to nothing on the trails.

TSDan, My business is in Mokena, IL and Highland, IN. Crafter Corporation is on my trucks and trailer. I do home remodeling. I try not to do work in the city.

one04fx4, I might have to take a trip up by your brother. Ive seen alot of video from the mountains up there and it looks awsome.

I just finished installing a blowoff valve for my supercharger and a new exhaust system and I cant even test it out. When we do find ice all my buddies will be

Bob Kurgen Motorsports in Byron. He is a very very good Mustang tuner; but, as I said I don't think he's done anything with these trucks. He does; however, know his business and apparently get's it right. He spends a lot of time at a dyno shop in Machesny Park with the vehicles he is tuning. He has provided me with many good solid tips. By the way. I am in Marengo just a few miles east of you.
