Wink Another Edge display question

Ok, before anyone flames me. I searched for display problems, but I only came up with ones talking about no display or a hard to read display. My problem is every now and then my display only reads a 0 value in the blocks. When I push the menu button or cycle power to it all the reading appear. I don't think it's temperature related. Do to the variations in temp it's happening in. It just seems to be doing it with out reason.

That's a new one. Might make sure both of your connections are good. I can't think of anything else.

Drop EDGE a line and let us know the response.

Good luck.

I called Edge about it and they said to check the connections. I told them I did and I also always unplug it when I get the truck serviced. He then said to download the current software and see if that fixes it. I will do that later this week and see if it happens anymore after that. He said he would need to have it do it to see why it does it. That would be a problem because I can't just wave a wand and make it do it all the time. Hopefully the updated software will fix it.

It still does it even after the update. Here is what it looks like, I know it's not a biggie though.

It is a biggie. Your edge isn't working right. I'd get a new one shipped out asap, who knows what will malfunction next? Maybe the pcm failure costing you $140 to reflash at the dealer? I'd get a new one shipped out if I were you.

I agree. I would never trust it.

mine has done that a few times, but only when the truck fails to start or maybe I let off the key to soon when starting. then I hit the key to start before the edge has time to sync or its going thru the display screen, anyways it says 0's, I just shut the truck off and restart and everything works, never tried hiting any buttons on the edge. Hope that made sence, I'm on the cold medicine and in a fog

Edge display problem

I have had my Edge for almost a year now and have had this only happen once or twice. I checked the connection under the dash, it seemed loose, so I pushed it back in place and reset the programmer, it worked fine. I think maybe I bumped the connection at some point or maybe it worked itself loose. I have not had any other problems with the Edge as a result of this or in any other way. You might check to see if the connectors have a loose fit.

That was the first thing I did. Edge said to check it as well and to go ahead and update it to see if helps. They said they couldn't trouble shoot it if it's not doing it for them, Like taking your car in the shop and they can't duplicate the problem The guy I spoke to also stated he has never heard of a shudder problem with level 3 It's intermittin so other than me taking pictures I'm sure it will be impossible for me to duplicate it for them.
I also have the no screen when cold out as well as the level 3 shudder so come on Mike get the Livewire on the shelf and have a group buy for it.
I would like to see that thing mounted in all the way's it mounts, I'm not sure I like the suction cup mount option.

I just spoke wit Edge about this a second time and this time I was informed that it's from a voltage drop. He said that it's the same reason why some others have had a backlight with no screen display and not to worry about it. I do have 2 tiny led's for my alarm system. I wouldn't think they draw that much but who knows, maybe?
