My first Hemi kill!

Okay, I've been on this forum long enough to read about everyone's first race/kill/etc. Now it's my turn!!

I'm driving home from work on Mound Road (you S.E. Michiganders should know where that is) and traffic is moving about 8 miles over the speed limit (45 mph). Ahead of me is some tool in a new Dodge Ram 1500, I know it's new 'cause he still has the temporary registration in the window and no license plate. He's weaving in and out of traffic like he's trying to win a stock car race.

About a mile later, I happen to catch up with him at a light, we're in front of everyone else and he's obviously in a hurry from the way he keeps creeping up on the light.

Light changes and we both take off. I'm at about 1/2 throttle and I can hear he's flogging his new Hemi for all its worth.

I'm running on a 93 Performance Tune from "Mad" Mike Troyer. I grin, and try to push the accelerator through the floorboard.

My truck drops down to 1st, in the high RPM band and leaps forward. My front bumper is about even with his door handle.

The transmission decides to find 2nd gear (my favorite gear) and now my tachometer needle is racing my speedometer needle along with my little race I've got going on. I keep pulling, and pulling... now we're even, now I'm a fender ahead of him, now I've got a car length on him... and I keep pulling away. He's still pushing his truck, because I'm not racing away from him as if he'd backed down, but every tick of the clock is putting me farther and farther ahead.

Now my transmission finds 3rd gear, which those of you running the same tunes as me means you're DEEP into the high 80 MPH range. I back it off and begin to slow as we're coming up on a red light.

He pulls up next to me, and just stares at me.

I flash him a grin, the light turns green and I dust him again.

I've been waiting to see how my truck did against a stock Hemi fresh off the dealership lot... now I know, and I can't keep the grin off my face.

Thank you Mike, thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!!

HI!... Great kill! I luv the guys who buy those HEMI rams. They all strut around up here thinking their the SHEET because they have 345H.P. Ya sure, but no TQ. I luv when they get next to me and start revving up or talking crap about FORDs. The light turns green and *BANG*. A certain white F-150 pulls 4-5 trucks lengths on them in about 3 seconds! LOL! Then they talk to themselves, like : "WHAT JUST HAPPENED? I've got a HEMI, nothing can beat my HEMI.....................

Well, kboozy, if you see a Patriot Blue Ram with a Red Wings, Detroit Tigers, Detroit Pistons and University of Michigan sticker across his back window, you know he's a good target.

On the other hand, if you see a Deep Wedgewood blue and Granite two-tone F-150 with a red Troyer sticker in the back window, give a wave and let's go! I have to drive from Grosse Pointe to Troy every day for work...

I placed my order in this group buy on Haloween - somewhat because 2 of my friends each have Dodge Rams with a Hemi. I guess that sometime around Thanksgiving I will be able to go into "Pounce Mode" and nail one of them.

Good Job !

Kenny
