whats not ok?

ok so the power tuning issues are all worked out you say correct? what are some of the issues that are not totally worked out so far. and as you said since they are reprogrammable online, then why not buy them now and if they do fix a bug or two or whatever, then we can just go online and reprogram....im trying to be safe....so what are the things that could possibly go bad from ordering one now?

thanks again
keep updating on how the tuners work guys thanks

That is that the way I see it. I tried to get in as a beta tester but I was too late. Now I should receive my Edge on Tues or Wednesday and if it needs updated so be it. How many software programs on my PC have had to had updates? (lots)

Yeah, i don't really consider the tire size reprogramming software an issue since my 1997 has to be manually changed around to compensate for different sized tires. Like a different sized gear on the cable from the tranny or something. Maybe i'm wrong and look like an idiot now. But that's what Ford told me when I had it calibrated.

Exclamation yeh

i would use the tire adjustment software being that i have 325-60-r18 tires.....so is that stuff not available right now? or is it only messed up in certain circumstances.. because i havent adjusted it yet, and i would still get the power from the programmer. then if my programmer is one of the few that has an issue with the tire adjustement, i will be able to update it once they get the bugs out.....is this right or am i messing up?

thanks

I got my edge tuner yesterday!!! I installed it right before I had to head out for a two hour drive up into the mountains here in Oregon. (Driving from Corvallis to Sisters for anyone that knows Oregon) It made an unbelieable difference. All the hills that the truck used to have to shift down and run it's revs really high were no longer a match for the newly tuned truck. Not to mention how cool the display is and the amount of different functions it monitors and displays. I do recommend turning the screen color to red before driving long distances at night though, I had it full on green for like 40 miles and my eyes were killing me. I guess that's why they have dimmers on dash lights.

I STRONGLY recommend this system. Amazing how easy it is to install and use. No drawbacks that I can see!

You know, you could dim the backlighting while you are driving! Just press the UP/DOWN arrows and it brightens/dims. Don't go blind man!

I just installed my Edge tuner yesterday. The shifting is amazingly different than before. Reminds me of my old Nova. I set my LCD to be blue to match my alpine stereo. I only had 30 mns to play with it last night but from what I saw I was pretty impressed. I am taking it on a road trip tomorrow so then I will get to toy around with it a bunch.

Edge Tuner question..

Afternoon everyone, I have a question...I have a 2003 SC 4x4 with 5.4, Flowmaster dual exhaust, Series 77 K&N Filter and just installed my new Edge tuner. Updated off the web and running it with 89 pump gas with no detonation on level 3. (and love it !!!)
Now my question... does it shifting that dang hard bad for the engine or tranny ???

Haven't tried to pull the boat yet (on level 2) but am anxious to do so. Additionally, for me I have gotten 1-2 more mpg following my normal driving habits...

It pulls my boat GREAT! I don't downshift as much on the hills. And the passing power is awesome. Yesterday on the way home from the river, I passed my buddy in his Grand Am GT. I had the air on, and one passenger. He went to pass me, I gunned it, and gave him a good run for his money. The boat and trailer combo weighs about 2500-3000 lbs too fully loaded.

Apparently it will only improve your gas mileage on level 2 and 3. I've been running level 3 with premium gas since I got it 4 days ago and my gas mileage seems to be amazingly better than before. Could be because of the combination of the gas and the tuner. But we'll see next time I run a tank of regular on level 2.

I had a problem that they could not fix with an update. They are sending me a new one. It may have been a problem with the hardware though. I should get the replacement on Monday. I will say that their tech support was awesome and they had no problem with sending a replacement.
