Troyer Performance Dyno Day!
Troyer Performance Dyno Day!
Hello All,
OK, the post many of you have been waiting for is here - we have firmed up a date for our first Dyno Day at the new shop (well, new to us), and that will be Saturday April 8th. Now as usual, most likely there are going to be so many people that it will go on for both Saturday and Sunday, and as always, the first to call in and make their appointments will be the first served.
We will take "official" appointment times for the dyno starting on Saturday April 8th, and also for Sunday April 9th - with time already having been set aside for Rock Pick on Friday if he makes it in.
Now here are some basic "ground rules" you'll need to know, just FYI kind of stuff:
1.) Your vehicle MUST be in good mechanical condition with NO leaks of ANY kind.
2.) You'll want to make sure that your fuel filter is fresh, the spark plugs do not have more than about 50K miles on them, and that the upstream O2 sensors do not have more than 50K miles, as we have always told people here. Otherwise the engine simply will not run like it could and should. If you have 80K miles on your plugs and want to come down, well, OK, but we'll be quick to tell you that you're compromising your results, just be aware. If your upstream (front) O2's have 80K miles on them, you'll want to replace them.
We will have new O2's & fuel filters on hand and will change them for you if need be - and we'll tell you when your truck is on the dyno if we feel it needs O2's and/or a fuel filter to get proper results & for the engine to respond properly based on the datalogging we will do to each and every vehicle on the dyno. (And no, we are not trying to sell O2's or fuel filters, we don't make enough money on them to ever make that worthwhile - we just have to do whatever is required to make the vehicle run and respond correctly.)
3.) You need to call & make an appointment - this is for F-150 Online members and is being done by appointment only. As always at these events, we'll be leaving the times a bit loose, as you never can tell what a given vehicle may do or require.
4.) Pricing is NOT going to be discussed here - that will be done only by phone, when you call in for your appointment. The only charge for those who have purchased their tuning from us is for the dyno time or if they need O2's or a fuel filter.
5.) You will need to have at least your baseline custom tuning done - So if you are part of the Group Buy and do not yet have your tuning, make sure and let us know when you call to make your appointment, just so we can be sure your tuning is ready in plenty of time!
6.) At this point, we really don't know just how "complete" the rest of the shop (other than the dyno) is going to be by that time - we may still be at a point where only the dyno is up & running, so be prepared to see a rather raw operation for those expecting to see a fully equipped shop, as we're still waiting on a lot of equipment, furniture, computers, you name it as of now, and are very busy getting the Group Buy custom tunes done!
7.) We are also setting up a hotel for anyone to stay at that wants to stay overnight - we'll be getting a Group Rate for everyone, and it'll be at a hotel that gives free breakfast, etc.
Now some of the final details regarding the actual hotel rate, just for one example, may not be completed by Monday - but it will be within a couple of days - we just finalized on April 8th this afternoon, so there are a few details we still have to nail down, as we try to get all bases covered for a significant event.
I think that covers the basics, any questions (other than pricing) can be discussed here in this thread (within reason), as I'm sure there will be things we haven't thought of to cover in this post, especially since I'm in such a hurry as I type this!
So there it is, gang - Dyno Day starts on Saturday, April 8th - so get your appointments made ASAP!!!
Make sure to be there at the first Troyer Performance F-150 Online Dyno Day at our new facility - you won't want to miss it!

okay mike ,no mustang this time,im going to actually bring my lightning.if all i want to do is simply run the truck to check the tune in it now is that alright?if its not will you have ex2 on hand to buy so changes can be made?i probably will want to buy one anyway just to make shift changes.if i need to get one ahead of time to make things easier thats fine also.mustang runs great but i wish the trans shifted harder but other wise its fine.how often do you think you will have the dyno days now that you have your own dyno?thanks, gil
I swear MT is a mind reader! I was just thinking of posting a question to him online about the next Dyno Day, and here he not only beats me to it, but answers most of my questions while he is at it!
I don't suppose I could convince you to become a teacher, and come down to work with some of the kids in my school? I'm always looking for mind readers, those with eyes in the back of their head, etc, to show the kids their capable of more than they do...

I am so there! I am going to be ringing their phone 9:00 on Monday. I even left a message just in case that would get me on the list.
I just (today) ordered the xcal2 and AF1 for my 98 F150 and I'm only a few hours away (at least I think, what is that address again?) This will be perfect timing for me.
