So which one did he recommend? The valve body or the Transgo shift kit? Will installing either one of these void the warranty on the transmission?

answer

i'm awaiting the call or reply
i can say this 1-this is my own van for my buisness [rhvac], it's pretty well stocked and just shy of 4 tons-mikes tuning was simply amazing that it could make this beast move more briskly- the part throttle torque around the hills of pa is outstanding-i want to keep this vehicle a long time and see how many miles i can get out of it-now mikes tuning as far as shift characteristics have really firmed up the shifts and is mated well to the object of this vehicle, i was going to do the valve body on my 03 sc 4x4- but "I" feel the trans go shift kit may be better in this case mike????? due to the weight of it and its a heavy work truck?my local tranny go put a trans go in my 01 ram's when it went out @ 36,500 miles-it was so much better-i had recommended the same to my buddy in his 00 supercab 3/4 ton 4x4 crew cab ,8' bed-it really was night and day difference!-i'll keep ya posted what i find out unless "THE MAN " chimes in-phil

Hi Phil,

this week has been crazy-hectic what with the new shop and the major project vehicle that had to be finished this afternoon, etc., sorry I didn't get back to you yet!

I would go the Transgo shift kit route over the valve body, hands down - it's far more flexible, costs much less, etc.

Enjoy your New Years & I'll talk to you soon, this weekend if possible!

Hi Phil,

Nice talking with you today again - we're not actually open today, but I am trying to get a few things caught up, so I called and we played phone tag until we finally hooked up.

Best of luck with those exhaust changes on the van, & Happy New Years to you & your family!

thanks mike

thanks for the call mike- my main concern is tq retention-as the vehicle is so heavy-to be honest i'm pretty light on the throttle as previously mentioned-the part throttle driveability is amazing with the 93 performance tow tune in,i thought 2.25" true duals would be way to go to keep tq-but after our talk-i'll be ordering the -2.5 " magnaflow x-pipe, 2-#14336 mufflers,- i'm taking it to a custom pipe shop -will be done in ss for better scavenging[correct?],i'll have em put-x-as close to original y as possible, still unsure of tailpipes-may shoot em out the side in front of the passenger wheel, will also get the transgo and use level 2 then see how the tune works with it- if too snappy- i suppose you can email me trans changes via the email update kit-i may even do the trans cooler as well- thanks again -phil

Yep, no problem Phil, we'll make it all work out for you - nice choice of mods as you keep this van, you're really doing things tasty.

Hang in there & talk to you soon!
