AF1 Istalled

Just got the last part of the Stage One Per. Package...AF1...this weekend. I installed it on Sunday. It took about an hour and went in super easy.....and I don't do much mechanical work. The only thing I had to modify was the o2 sensor opening. The directions told me how to do that and it took ...maybe 2-3 minutes..very simple. After reading about the possibility that the engine light might go on and stay on for a while..I really wasn't worried if it came on or not because it wouldn't be a surpise at that point........I never got an engine light at all and I've driven about 200 miles since then. Now....what do I think about my Stage 1 Pkge w/custom tuning.........UNBELIEVABLE.......I can't believe how my truck runs......it's awsome.....it sounds awesome........It just seems like it is a real high perform. vehicle. I didn't think the AF1 would make much of a difference but it seems like I am getting more throttle response right from the start......I really can't get over the improvement....it's alot of fun drivin' this truck Now!!!!! One reason for this post is so that some people who are not sure how to invest there money as far as performance mods.....I wish you could drive my truck!!!!!! Thats the truth....If your in Western Mass and your not sure.......let me know

Hi kbc,

Glad to hear your Troyer Performance Stage 1 package is now complete - and yes, the Air Force One does indeed make a BIG different in throttle response, as it gains 20 HP at just 2000 rpm, and 25 Hp at just 3000 rpm - and that's at the rear wheels, now those are power gains you can really feel in these heavy trucks - and right where it's needed!

Are the numbers at 2,000 RPM and 3,000 RPM similar for an 2002 5.4L SuperCrew?

Thanks

Thanks

Use the SEARCH feature to retrieve & read those older posts with the numbers on the older vehicles - it's all there, ans saves me the time from having to go dig up older data - you can also drop by our web site and take a look at that as well.

In short - NO other vehicle has ever gained those kinds of numbers at such low rpms from any intake kit, that happens only on the 5.4 3V - the 5.4 2V's gain less power at lower rpms than the 5.4 3V's, but on the other hand, they gain significantly MORE power at higher rpms from the Air Force One compared to the 5.4 3V.

KBC454SC would you post some pics of the AF1. I want to see what it looks like. I plan on ordering that as well as an Xcal2 from Troyer as soon as I sell the Mods off my Mustang that I traded for the F150. Thanks

Just a question for you JP, How do you tell if it's the new tube and what is the purpose of the "new" tube. I will post a pic of my AF1 later on, perhaps this evening. I was wondering how I could tell.
Thanks!

It does look different, smaller. I wonder if it’s even the power-stack with the open end.
