X-Cal 2 just in- not working
Just recieved my X-Cal 2 today. Loaded 93 0ctane Towing tune and truck would not start. Called Troyer Perf. and everybody there was great and they are working on the solution, just disappointed not to be able to use the new tune. Just wondering if anybody else has had this problem.

Sorry to hear this guys. I got mine in the other day and loaded the tune yesterday and the truck runs awesome. I know you all are very anxious to try it out but it will be worth the wait. I am sure Mike will have you guys running ASAP.
Hi jtoole, NJSteve, etc.,
Status Update,
As of this moment (and it's well after midnight Friday night & we're still working), NJSteve's truck is now up & running fine.
The problem was a combination of several things that caused the file upload to the PCM to not happen quite right (it had nothing to do with the actual tuning, of course) - so we worked with NJSteve thru very late tonight to test on his truck (via email, thanks to technology, and long-distance phone calls), and we'll get jtoole's squared away tomorrow, I should think.
I have to take off for a 4-day R&D session that is 8700-1000 miles away (and I have to drive and should have already left!!!), and we'll be tuning the whole time as much as possible while I'm gone.
Normally it takes 7-10 days from the time we get the CPW's filled our from the customer to the time the tunes are done and shipping out the door - but the problem that just occurred 3-4 days ago that caused a few trucks to have no-starts (they jut returned back to stock and fired right up, no problem) put us a bit behind in working with the manufacturer's engineers & techs to get it solved. So that will add a few days, but we will get everyone caught up pretty quickly, and then you'll see a sudden rash of posts here from people raving about their Troyer-tuned XCal2's just like usual, have no fear!
So the no-start solution is done, NJSteve's truck fired right up first try on this last go-round - I stayed with him on the phone as he got our emailed program changes, loaded the tunes into his XCalibrator (he has the XCal 1, not XCal 2), and then as he flashed his truck, and it fired right up! We had originally thought his issue was an incompatible reflash, but as it turns out, though it was reflashed, that wasn't the problem - it was the same 2101-2107 code problem a few others had just this past coupla-few days.
So that is now taken care of, and before I take off tomorrow for down South we'll email jtoole some new programs that should take care of his issue as well!!
It's time to hit the sack and get some much-needed shut-eye, as this week has been real corker with this no-start problem that just cropped up with the new software versions - every day from sunup to when we pass out from exhaustion each day has been no fun, and we're all worn out here - hopefully today was the last of that for a little while, and we're back to tuning like crazy as usual!
So hang in there jtoole, we'll be talking tomorrow - I had Anita call you earlier this afternoon-evening (I don't know if she got thru to you) to let you know I was going to try to get that done tonight for you - but unfortunately, it just took us until literally maybe 10 minutes ago to get this taken care of, so I'm going to hit the sack and then we'll tackle this tomorrow. It will most likely be in the afternoon-early evening timeframe, though I'll do it sooner if I can, & thanks for your patience - don't worry, we'll have you up & running tomorrow!

I'm really looking forward to getting the fix done. It's hard to sit and look at the Xcal 2 and have it not work.
Look forward to hearing from Troyer tomorrow and getting to drive a whole new kind of truck.
Thanks for all your hard work Mike!

Hi Bryce,
I hear you!
We just got that fix done, as I guess you could tell from my last post in working with NJSteve on his truck - we should be able to get yours & jtoole's taken care of tomorrow as well via the email update feature!

Hi 04Triton5.4L,
Gee, I sure hope so, but I have no idea who you are by your screen name here - so I really can't tell you for sure, other than I think yours is done, too! There's no way I keep 70K + F-150 Online member's screen names matched up to their real name in my head............
Everyone (and there were a total of like 6 or 7, I think) that we know of that had that no-start issue this past week or so has already been sent out new tunes & new software to load those tunes into their Xcal's with - that was done this afternoon for the last few of you, so by now everyone affected that we know of should have something in their email to make them happy!
I should have left yesterday for the long drive to Orlando, but instead I stayed here to get everyone with no-start issues that I am AWARE of done before I hit the road................. what the heck, I'll sleep when I die, right?
So everyone check your emails, and if you have not received new tunes and software, then please give our staff a call to check to make sure we had your email address correct, etc.
Thanks for your patience thru this, you last few gentlemen that we just got done today - it's been driving us nuts as it was a problem in several areas that the manufacturer of the software had to get taken care of, and it put us about a week behind in our normal tuning time, roughly, in getting this problem discovered, identified, working thru fixes, testing, etc.......
Now NJSteve & I worked together thru I think about 1 am Saturday morning to get his truck up and running so he could have his tuning in time to use it for his trip Saturday morning - when we last spoke around 1 am Saturday morning (I think it was 1 am?), his truck fired right up.
Sooo.......everyone should be taken care of by now - , but if not for some reason, then most likely it's just because of an incorrect email address, or some minor thing like that. Anyone that has a problem please CALL US right away to let us know - and remember, you can call us 24 hrs, as if it's after hours, leave a message at Extension #22 - that's out hotline and gets looked at first for messages, so we can get back to you as quickly as possible in after-hours situations.
Phew, I'm past worn out, I think.....................now I have to get packed, showered, loaded up, and be in Orlando in time for our shindig to start 8 am tomorrow morning - and it's like 800 or so miles from here - if anyone sees a low-flying supercharged 2004 F-150 heading down down I-95 South, it's probably the "Gold Ghost" (also nicknamed "Charlie") with me on board!

Got it today! Thanks for going above and beyond for us. I can't think of many vendors who would work on the weekend to get us hooked up. Props for you!
And a shiny TP sticker in plain sight on the window

Hi NJSteve,
I think we ran out of stickers, but we do have more coming in - please shoot us an email and we'll make sure you get your sticker!
For jtoole,
That email update we sent should work just fine for you, as everyone else is up and running - give us a call if for some reason that doesn't take care of your truck!
