Funny thing. I just went to Superchips web site www.superchips.com and searched all around it. In it they talk about the horsepower and torque gains you will get with a Superchip but nowhere do they ever mention anything about the "supposed" increase in mpg. Kinda makes you wonder.

Proven Method of increasing MPG.... NO averages, means or deviations needed.
Just let up on the right foot... Use Cruise control....
Anyone who buys a Chip from any Vendor expecting to se a MPG increase is dreaming. The first thing you will do after installing a chip is push the go pedal more.

Well, I'm not getting into this pi**ing contest, All I'm going say is "GAS WAR" outside of Raleigh, Texaco regular $1.16 a gallon, fighting it out with a Big K-Mart new fast fill.

Wow 2000, it certainly does make me wonder. I just went and poked around their site as well and also was unable to find any info on this purported mpg increase. It appears that it's something that certain dealers have decided to embellish on. Kinda makes you wonder...

my question for you guys is this. all of you speak of a hp increase with the chip and torque, as well. if you're not seeing any increase in mileage, well then are you seeing a decrease? or, are you staying around the same? thanks, Rich.

Actually, look back through it, you'll find a couple in all the mess. Also do searches. There are a ton, plus some, of posts on this subject. The bottom line, some see a gain (I did) some see no difference, and a very few see a decrease. There are too many variables. Don't buy it expecting to get MPG gains, just know that you might. It's well worth it.

Just remember to buy a roll of duct tape to hold it in or be prepared to modify or make your own retainer. It's no fun when your engine cuts off running down the road. Gee just think if you bought your truck and every 100th time you hit a bump and your door popped open. What would be your answer if they said put a little duct tape on it!? High class! Excuse me, my pants are falling down and I need to reduct tape them.
