fast54triton,
What a fun post. Sounds like you are having a blast with your rig . I have a SCrew with the 5.4, K&N FIPK and Borla Cat-back exhaust, but I can't beg, borrow, or steal a race with anyone . I think people see the big 4 door and the child seat in the back and assume I am mature .

Keep us upto date on all your kills,
Crewie

Hey Fast,

Sounds like you got to have some legal & rather extreme fun there. Not many people ever get that kind of opportunity, you lucky rascal!

I have to admit that I was a bit dismayed (though of course happy for you) at the lack of performance from both of those police cruisers. One of the more important aspects of police vehicle performance is the 0-90 mph acceleration time. They figure the quicker the cruiser accelerates to 90 mph, the better chance they have of keeping the length & highest speeds of a chase down, or so I'm told by a number of PD's we've worked with over the years.

So if a bone-stock 5.4 F-150 SuperCab can walk away from either of those cruisers, that doesn't say much for the performance of either of those police packages. It may be that they not actually fully-equipped police cruisers, but instead only have lower-line components. Those packages normally include true dual exhausts in the Crown Vic (don't know about the new Chevy, but they too used to get true duals), a heavier duty suspension, brakes, etc. But we have seen a number of departments, usually smaller and/or rural who have cruisers in name & look only, and don't have the actual upgraded powertrain or other hardware.

At any rate, glad you were able to have some fun there, Fast. You must have made your friends envious!

Mike, I was very surprised infact. Normally, you need it to get up and going like you said, but the longer we went, the more he fell back.

This should show Ford that the 4.6l doesnt cut it for police cruisers.

Hi Fast,

You'll need plenty of hard drive space!

Talleywhacker made a very generous offer, so if there is something you want done soon, you might want to take him up on that offer, that was very kind of him.

Best of luck whatever you decide, that would be funny to see you whipping up on those 2 cruisers!

Hey Dunbarton!

If we do cross paths, please let me know what the sticker on my bumper says as I pass you...

Need a telescope my good friend?

Thumbs up

Just a friendly reminder. A crown vic may not be the fastest from 0-60 or even 90 but I guarantee if you take a few turns it will easily keep up with an f150.

It is great to hear you are racing safely. It gets old scraping people off of the pavement and doing in person death notifications!

Drive Safe,

Joe

Those cruisers must have had something wrong, espescially the chevy. If it had the LT1, it should have run away from you. From experience, I know the crown vic I drive every day is alot quicker than my truck...even with my 4.56 gears. I'm not saying it couldn't happen, but those cruisers should have taken you off of the line and kept right on going.
