Installed my Superchip on Friday and no complaints!
So I finally got my Superchip on Thursday and put it in on Friday. I must say, it made a pretty nice difference in my truck. The tranny finally shifts like a truck should, firm and smooth but not too harsh. There is no more annoying engine rpm drop between shifts either. I am very pleased with the tranny setup the chip.
As for the engine and HP increase, it's a pretty good seat of the pants difference. I'm not the type of driver the goes everywhere WFO. The motor definitely has more snap to it, much better throttle response. It also seems to downshift quicker now without having to push the petal to the floor. I like that part alot, makes merging and passing much more pleasurable.
Today, I pulled out in front of a chevy that was moving faster than I thought so I stomped it. I was amazed to hear the truck chip second gear. That was the first time I really ever stomped the petal that hard. 0-60 seems real quick now, that POS chevy never even caught me.
Another thing I noticed is that it made my Gibson SweptSide louder. I can hear the exhaust quite a bit more now, which is fine with me. That Gibson is quiet, and now that it got a little louder, it sounds perfect for my taste. It barks real nice under acceleration, buts stays quiet when you at idle or a steady speed.
4 days isn't a long time to judge sometime, but if I had to do it over again, I most certainly would. I will report back with MPG figures as they come in, but it's looking good so far.

Glad you are enjoying the chip! I also noticed how mine will chirp the tires going into 2nd on a hard acceleration.

Hi Guys,
Just a quick note on this issue of whether you'll be able to get 2nd gear rubber in these F-150 automatics with the Superchip......
This usually only happens with the lightest V-8 configurations, most others will not do that, as we've basically set them up with a "towing" type of calibration, for lack of a better term, that is designed to firm up the shifts a bit and reduce slippage, rather than deliverately trying to make them chirp the tires on the 1-2 WOT upshift. We can easily dial in enough line pressure to make just about any of them do that tire-chirping type of upshift, but that's only done on request.
We don't want a too-stiff upshift sending a shock wave through the vehicle when towing say, 4 horses or any kind of livestock in a trailer behind, so we give a lot of consideration to the uses that these trucks are put through, in coming up with the desired shift characteristics.
Just a quick FYI.........

Hi Dustoff,
I'm sure you did! There's nothing like the satisfying "screech" of the tires on a WOT 1-2 upshift.
I almost wish nobody ever towed with these trucks, so we could program them all to always do that, but given the type of vehicle, we have to give them basically a "towing" type of transmission calibration, and so what tends to happen is that only the lighter trucks will usually get 2nd gear rubber in the automatics.
Have fun!

Ordered my chip from Mike last Friday and recieved it Tuesday. Nice Service!!!
I have a 5.4,2001,f-350, it has 750 miles on it. Lastnight, I stopped at a drive-thru, in front of me was a old mustang belching fumes, and some smoke, wellllll, my damn truck starts stalling. It took a couple of tries but got it started, drove home, and it stalled again in the drive. Took about 5 minutes before I could get it started. I HAVEN'T INSTALLED THE CHIP YET, been waiting to run out a tank of cheap gas. Today I drove it about 30 miles, with lots of stops, and it's been fine, no stalling, so i'm going to fill-up later and install the chip tomorrow, I just hope this stalling thing was the result of my truck breathing in some toxic fumes, because I know if I put this chip in and then have it take it to the dealer, you know what their going to say. I like this truck, but as of right now, i'm a little disappointed with the performance, hope the chip helps some. Will post my results afterward.

Hi jimbos43,
Hmm, a brand new truck like that has no business stalling, etc. you might want to have that chekced out before you install the Superchip, that's of course up to you. The Superchip won't fix whatever that problem is, of course.
Let us know what you find out if you take it in to the dealer for that stalling, that should never happen of course, so good luck!

Yeppers Mike, me is Ray. Sorry I haven't replied sooner but life (or is that wife) can be a bitch sometimes.
Well it's been a week with the chip now and all is well. No connection problems, but I didn't foresee any because it was a very snug fit. I don't know if my PCB was thicker than others or what, but I cleaned the contacts til almost all the copper was showing and it's still a tight fit. I figure copper is the third best conductor on this earth and that is way better than a tin/lead/silver mix. I can always re-tin the contacts with sliver solder in the future if I have any problems.
Now where my computer mounts, it did have the backing plate with that large lip on the end of it that would hit the Superchip. I had no problems getting that plate out like some other guys did. God loved us when air rachets were born. Took me all of about 30 seconds in and out with those self tapping bolts. I can see it taking well over 30 minutes without air tools.
What I did to modify this bracket was line it up with the computer and mark where the Superchip ended on that lip. I then cut the lip with a hacksaw about 1/8 inch past that mark(or away from the Superchip). With the cut made, I put the plate in a vice and bent everything straight from the cut to the end of the bracket, going under the Superchip. The part I didn't bend straight was just perfect for the stock black plastic pressure or spring clip to still work perfect and hold the computer nicely in place.
About taking the chip out for service, that would be a task due to the fact that I increased my trucks GVW with duct tape holding that sucker in place. The chip'ith go'ith nowhere'ith!!! And that's all I have to say about that.

Hi Fast,
It's great to have you back around again, nice to see you stop by. After all this time you've been here, and all your posts, I think we'll have to have an F-150 Online party just to celebrate you getting your Superchip!
(just kidding with you here, it's perfectly fine if you never do, just enjoy your truck)
Actually, I thought you'd never get out of your 4.6, you seemed to love that truck. Now that you've got the 5.4, you're just going to be that much more dangerous.
Have fun,
