Hi StevensBlack4X4,

Sorry we've been a bit slow to respond the last 2 days here, the site has been running very slowly, and taking 5 minutes to load each page, so we just couldn't get everyone responded to here online. It seems to have sped back up, so hopefully we can get caught back up on everyon'e questions here shortly!

As far as delivery times, that simply depends on if you have us do any custom programming or not, and how quickly you want it shipped. Most non-custom orders ship same day.

With regards to how to order, you can either give us a call at our number listed below, or you can use our online system we have available right here on F-150 Online, which you can access just by clicking on the link just below, in our signature line, and that will take you right to it.

And of course if you'd like to go over any details, etc., please feel free to give us a call, we're always happy to speak with you.

This thread sounds like an infomercial for the "Buns O Steel" machine. Only $99.99 (tax and shipping extra) Too funny!

Yeah, but Bubba, the chip'll haul more @ss quicker than any "buns o' steel".

If your priority is HP at all costs, this isn't a bad add-on. On the rare occasion, some users get better mileage but I think the vast majority experience a loss of > 10%, but would take the tradeoff for HP.

What is the difference between UPS Ground, UPS Red and UPS blue.

UPS ground is regular UPS shipping (usually 3-4 business days), UPS red is overnight air, and UPS blue is 2nd day air. I usually have things shipped blue because it doesn't usually cost a great deal more than UPS ground.

I went ground and received the unit in 2 days. I believe the unit was shipped same day because it was not a "custom" chip. There are some posts awhile back by Mike T. recommending ground over Red or Blue because of the quick turn-around time (on non-custom chips... the ones they have in stock, which apparently seem to be all of them).

Question

What is customized on the custom chips? I mean what options are available that cause changes to the standard setup?

Hi SuperCrewMark,

You only need custom programming if you have major mechanical modifications, like a supercharger, ported heads, etc. Also an aftermarket mass airflow meter usually requires a custom program as well.

The "standard" Superchip will work just fine with most of the more popular bolt-ons, things like K&N air filters, airbox elimination kits, cat-back exhaust systems, etc. will all work just fine with the "standard" Superchip for your vehicle's computer code.

Now, once we need to do custom programming, what makes it a custom program are the exact changes that we need to make, which will of course depend on just exactly what type of modifications we're compensating for.

If you'd like to go over this in more detail, please feel free to give us a call, we're always happy to go over any questions, etc. you may have.

Thanks Mike. I don't have the truck yet, it's on order. One of the things I was wondering about was taller tires. Can the chip be programmed to adjust the speedo and trans shift points?

Hi SCM,

Yes, we do alter the shift points for maximum acceleration, and we do a lot of additional changes to the automatic transmission programming to make it shift better, quicker, and in general, be more responsive overall. With regards to correcting the speedometer for tire size changes, that will depend on what code your vehicle happens to come with in it's computer, as some of the codes we can do this for, and some we don't have done just yet, as this is an on-going project. So when it arrives, let's see what code it has and we can give you a better idea then.
