Well I finally got to go against a Silverado Extended cab with the Z71 package. It was the new model 99-00? He got me at the start but after chirping in second I was at his rear wheel. After that it was goodby. At the next light I heard his girlfriend yelling
"You let a Ford beat your truck!"

Later I got to try against a late 70's early 80's Camaro. Stoped at a light I took off to see if he wanted to play. His passenger had a good laugh at the next light when I schrugged and said "Oh well". About 3 lights later we had a chance to show our Stuff. Well I didn't see his tail lights so he had to be behind me. When we stopped at a light later he said "She realy goes" and asked me about my exhaust. "Borla" I said. He wanted to know what I had in it. Neal wanted a peice of him. Sorry Neal, us little fish have to play too.....

Regards

Hey Neal!

Sounds like Kill#2 there, the turbo car, gave you a bit of a run; those turbo 4-bangers can be deceptively quick!

Sounds like you also got *very* lucky with those officers! They usually don't have much of a sense of humor when they catch you street racing like that, you were very lucky on that alone. Then to have a fight break out that they had to leave you for, somebody must be watching over you is all I can say! Maybe the Easter spirit was watching over you or something.

JMC, good show! You two guys crack me up all the time, I love it.

Be careful,

Cool

Mike T., I have a slight problem and I am hoping that you can help me out. My truck has 205 HP (book quote) and I have added the K&N FIPK to it and love the trottle response. My problem is that I have started to hang around two other guys from Windsor and they are way ahead of me for HP. JMC, I might be able to keep up to him with an addition of an exhaust and if I have his keys in my pocket. Neal, he is just too fast right now. I know that your chips give approx. 25% extra HP (approx. 260 HP) but that would be okay if I was to race JMC BUT what about Neal. I was hoping that you would be able to make a Super-Duper Superchip that would give me, say ..... 50% extra HP for my truck (approx. 305 HP). I would be able to keep up with Neal with the addition of the FIPK and exhaust until he gets the charger and that is where I draw the line. Would you be able to hook a brother up with the chip OR should I just stay behind them and blink the lights when the police start to chase them down. It seems that this happens alot with these guys.

Well I can consider this a kill I guess. Today, at the light I saw a 94' Camaro with the 3.4l V6 , auto. He yelled, want to run? So I nodded, and we took off, and I walked away like he was standing still. THe lane merged, but I walked him up to 50mph.

Fast, I got a better kill... A couple of days ago, I was in the left lane. The right lane merges into mine on the other side of the light... When the light hit green, it was clear the guy on the right wanted to get ahead of me... by the time I hit 45, I was at least a truck length or two ahead of that limo...

Hey Mike: I was hoping that you could make a chip with 25% more and not approx. 25 HP. Yeah, Neal has a good step up, now all he needs is some good tires. The last time I was talking to them, JMC was saying that he has wires showing in the front which WAS on the rear. He may start to need to put the Ranger on the road because the truck will hook up too good and bust something. Hmmm .... Good possiblity on betting him again ... Sorry, day dreaming there for a minute. Any possiblity of stacking chips or how about sending Neal a e-mail to send you his chip and then just send him a plain jane chip, no changes. I am sure JMC would have to agree on this strategy to bring Neal down in horsepower. Maybe we can just flatten his 4 tires and say he has to ride with us. Thanks for all the info.

Izzy,

Here's how to level the playing field against Neal...... when he's out of his truck looking at speed parts, spray both his rear tires real good with silicone spray. Lay it on GOOD.

Then challenge him to a race. When he trips over his feet running to get his truck to line up with you,and the count hits THREE, all you will see is "A cloud of smoke and hi-yo Silver awaaaaaaaay ......." He'll sit there spinnin' 'til the cows come home!

Dear IzzyEddy,

If the Superchip added that much power to an F-150, I'd be a millionaire! The Superchip doesn't add 25% more power on normally-aspirated gasoline engines, I'm afraid, it's more like 10%-12%, just so you know. Our Powerstroke diesel applications, and other turbocharged applications we can see those kinds of gains, but not on a normally-aspirated gasoline motor. For your 302, the Superchip adds 20 horsepower and 30 lbs./ft of torque.

Beating Neal will only cause him to bring his Power Ranger out of storage, and wreak *serious* havoc on the streets of Windsor. He's already bad enough.

Good luck,

Hey IzzyEddy,

Well, I guess you could flatten all 4 of Neal's tires, but then I hear Neal's got some real prowess with a baseball bat, hmmm... I'll pass, as I'm allergic to being struck hard, long, & often with a baseball bat! Sames goes for pulling horsepower out of his chip during the next re-burn, he'd hunt me down for sure!

Have fun you guys, & be careful this weekend on the streets up there!

Neal, now come on. You don't expect JMC and myself to sit by idlely while you have all this fun. If we have to get some big guys into the equations (Mike T.) then we will, if they will help. {Mike T. - any ideas on this topic will be greatly appreciated. I like the idea from Dunbarton, maybe JMC and I can just jump Neal when he is out of his truck and take his keys.} The only way JMC and I can keep up is if you run into slow traffic and we are in the right position so you can't avoid them OR maybe we borrow the Ranger and take you on with it. Well, I have come to the conclusion that JMC must buy another truck, changed out his motor OR buy a charger to beat you and we have to make sure that you don't get one too. Maybe we can call all the manufacturers and tell them that you are a crazy man and they are not to sell you a charger. As for me, out of the equation, I'll be your police spotter, not enough money to buy new truck, besides I just bought this one a year ago. Even with the addition of mods, there is no way I can make up that kind of HP. I have to try and help JMC in this quest now. Maybe we should get ATST over here and let her give you a run, maybe you will give a female driver a better chance then you do with us!! {What do you think ATST ?? Any free Saturday night's ?? }

Where were you guys at on Sunday night, I went looking but didn't find you guys anywhere? Talk to ya later.

Dear FORDTRK,

It was "Neal the HP Freak" that relocated his IAT (Inlet air temperature, prior to 1993 referred to as the ACT, or Air Charge Temperature) sensor in his 5.4 F-150, just so you'll know.

I spoke to Neal on the phone just recently about this, and because it's still very cool weather, so far there is no "seat of the pants" difference that he can detect. This is exactly what I would expect until the weather warms up some. Since the seasons change fairly slowly, I don't think it's going to be possible to detect a definite seat of the pants difference even in warm weather. Now if it had been changed in the summer, then you'd have a good chance of actually feeling a seat of the pants difference. But since he changed it in spring, it might be hard to account precisely for the impact it makes by itself, is my guess, but time will tell.

Neal will be happy to tell you all about it, I'm guessing, now that you know it was Neal that did this change.

ATST: easy, this is just friendly fun that we are having here. Think of it as a favor for JMC and I. Oh and hey, think about the bragging rights that you would have when you beat Neal on his own turf.
