Ohter Victories and Defeats (Neal excluded)
Neal was mentionning to me last night that "his" Victories and Defeats topic page was getting cluttered with other members victories. So this page is for the rest of us. Neal you can't post any of your victories in here.

Well they weren't really kills like Neal racks up but they are defeats for the other people .... poor people, they never what they were in for from a 5000 lb., 20 ft. monster. LOL !!!
The first one was a small car, a shadow / sundance or something like that. This guy had been jumping on it at very stop light, I would accelerate but not enough to keep up with him but eventually pass him before the next light. We were entering an on-ramp to our expressway, he didn't start into the curved on-ramp too fast but half way through while I was ahead of him he tried to pass. With this off-ramp there is two lanes, the first one merges into the 2nd and then onto the slow lane of the expressway. Anyhow, I ran him to the end of the 1st lane and he could outrun me so he pulled in behind me in the 2nd merged lane. I just kept accelerating with the overdrive off, powered up a overpass and as I was heading the other side, I turned the O/D on. By this time the guy was about 20 of my truck lengths behind me. Too bad, so sad ... odds are he won't be messing with another 20 ft truck anytime soon.
The other one was one of ours ... a mid 90's F150, supercab, shortbox. Not sure what he had in it but he couldn't catch me. I picked the wife up at my parent's place which is out in the country to go to a local tractor pull. I turned the corner and with my tires low tread depth they kind of chirped as I cornered. At the corner behind me was a Chevy pickup and then the Ford. Well they weren't across the intersection for long and the Ford jumped the Chevy. I seen all of this happening and kept an eye on them. The chevy didn't seem to be doing a whole lot so I figured he must be after me. I let him get about 20 lengths back and accelerated up to about 110 mph and stayed there. During the acceleration period he was not doing to bad, he wasn't gaining but wasn't dropping back very quick either. This was probably for a good 10 minutes of a run. Never catch me till I started to slow down for my next corner BUT as soon as I got around the corner and let him get around too, I jumped back on it and immediately pull away from him pretty good. Stayed like that till I came up on a heavy chevy in my way and couldn't pass because of other traffic. He ended up pulling in behind me at the tractor pull but didn't stick around to talk when we parked the trucks. He was an older guy so I might have been pissed that I yanked his chain alittle.
Don't have too many of these so I have to brag while I have a chance.

Cool thanks for starting this guys. I have quite a few stories. I cant go in depth on all of them but I ca non some of the more recent ones. Every Sunday night in a pretty deserted area they have street races with every vehicle you could imagine. On a good night probably about 300-400+ vehicles. This is where most of mine happen. Well here are some.
About 2 weeks ago I'm leaving work and I head down the Lakefront where everyone hangs out late at night and on the weekend. Its 4 lanes, 2 each way amd the roads are freshly paved with tons of parking. Well I was pissed when I was leaving because some customers stayed 2 hours after we had closed. So its about 12:30am and as I leave the parking lot my rear tires were in some water so I slam on it and spin em through 1st. So I'm going and in my rearview I see a new Dodge ram v8 auto (not the ugly ones with the big grill) speeding up to catch me, so I slow down to about 20mph (thats what everyone cruises at) and put it in 1st so it revs up pretty loud. Well I crank up the tunes and he gets the idea. We continue to cruise like this side by side. The pace slowly picks up to about 35mph so I put it in 2nd, well this guy starts to accelerate and I keep up so he doesnt like it. Well since I'm in 2nd I had no power at all until I hit about 50 well he was way infront of me. He catches some traffic and I turn down a 2 lane street 1 lane each way and he follows me. He tries to blow past me on the otherside of the street (on coming traffic ... but there was none) but this time I throw it into 1st and take off, hit 2nd at about 45 and all I can see is him in my mirrors slowly falling back. I back off at about 75 and he does the loosers flyby. I eventually catch up to him and we are approaching a red light. This guy swervers and turns off. He didn't want to run with the beast from the line LOL.
This weekend at the races, I raced a jacked up 96 Chevy 4x4 with a 350 from like a 50mph roll and I just walked on him. I backed off at about 90 and he was about 3 truck lengths back. Come to find out it was one of my friends with a new vehicle LOL.
I also raced a 97 Tacoma 4cyl to 110 on the interstate that night. He pulled on me pretty good once I hit 3rd. But I also have the aero dynamics of a brick. We went from the line later on and OMG when I hit 60 he was about 5 trucks back. They have no off the line power. On the way back from the races that night I pulled up next to a new Dodge Dakota with a v6 and an auto. My friend has a v6 with the manual and he blows me away off the line. Well I get next to him and we go around a curve and as soon as we hit the overpass he stomps it. So I think well its all over, but I get on it, catch him and pull about a truck and a half by the time I hit 80. At the next light I talked to hi mand he said that the manuals walk on him like they walk on me. I think he said he had a 2001???
I also raced a 97 4 Runner. I take him off the line, but by the time I hit 25 he jsut blows past me and totally spanks me. He has the TRD Supercharger and runs 14.8s.
Well these arent as good as Neals, but I do what I can with what I have. I have alot more stories, but most are agains riced out civics and stuff that are slow as hell.

Hi JMC & everyone,
A "kill" thread for everyone *except* Neal, that's hilarious!
I'd like to be out there with Beastie, sounds like they have a good active street-racing scene out there. I hope it's safe & people are being careful & smart, etc. so that nobody gets hurt. Then the police *will* come in & close it all down.
The single biggest group of street racers I've encountered in one place (and this was years ago) were the racers that hang out on Lakeshore Drive in the Windy City (otherwise known as Chicago). Hundreds of them lined up & waiting, a great scene.
Here in Virginia some years ago, we used to run pretty serious, $5K & up minimum per run, some guys used to tow Pro Stock race cars down out of NJ & MI, etc. to run for the money. We had people on scanners, radios, etc., as well as blocking off the roads we ran on (usually fairly deserted anyway). Unload the cars off the trailers, take the trailer a half-mile down the road and then light 'em off & run a 9-10 second blast, loading it back on the trailer without ever stopping, collect the money & haul butt outta there. We finally had to implement a cruise rule to eliminate the pure race cars.
These days we don't get nearly as much of that, as most law enforcement officials & judges don't look on street racing nearly as leniently as they used to 20-30 years ago. These days when an officer says "we got him doing 107 in a 55," the judge is liable to take your license for a year, put you in jail, fine you $5K and once in awhile, even seize your vehicle to put it up for auction.
Some say "those were the days," but frankly, we did a lot of stupid things in the good old days & we were all lucky to survive them & not hurt somebody else.
Have fun with the thread & please be careful on the street!

I got whupped by an Honda S-2000! I came up next to him at a red light, and when it turned green, we both jumped on it. I guess I pissed him off with Sublime bumping through the sub, LOL! So anyways, we both jumped on it, and we were even through first gear. Then he decided to rub it in
He hit second gear and left me like I was sitting still, lol! Oh well.
Another one was a near win
I was sitting at a light waiting, and this Chevy ext. cab (late model) rolls slowly up to the light. About that time, the light turns green and he jumps on it. I hit the gas too, hoping to at least gain on him, which I did. I doubt he would have had a chance if he wasn't rolling about 15 mph when the light changed. I got about even with the back of his bed when I had to turn(running late)
People will race at the drop of a hat here in Socal, I love it

Memory
I had a 92 Bronco which weighed in at 8,000 pounds that I liked to race around in a few years back. One night I was heading out of town...last stop light before the highway started. It was me in my Broncie and about a 98 Yukon tricked out. Insidue the truck were a bunch of young rich kids that had more time and money than what they new what to do with. Well the little punk starts to bounce on the line so I figure what the heck. turned off the a/c droped it in 1st and waited for the light. the light turned green i hammer the throttle. of the start just whooping him and then he starts to climb up my passenger side oh crap I can see his front end now...droped it into second buh bye Broncie pulls away. finally let off the throttle when he was about three cars back and 110mph
Okay,
I just got brutalized by a late model Mustang convertable!!!
Driving home from work, a red mustang was on side street, appears to see me, gets on the same highway about 1/8th of a mile behind me.
I am in the right hand lane. He accelerates until we are even. He then punches it. So do I. We stay even until another vehicle in front of me, forces me to slow down. I go into the left hand lane about two car lenghts behind him. He punches it. So do I. I "peg" the speedo at 100 mph and continue to accelerate until the govenor or what ever slows you down kicked in. He was still pulling away from me like I was in park! This is at speeds over 100 mph!
Man! I hope the MagnaCharger makes a difference!!!!

Beat a newer Grand Cherokee. The jeep started creeping forward hard at the stop light. Put my tranny in 1st, light turned green, and he had no chance.
Beat a 1995 F250 2wd diesel. I don't know why, but he really got on it next to me so I left him there.
Beat a early 90's Nissan Maxima. Didn't know it was next to me at the light until I heard some loud buzzing sound. Looked down and there he was, creeping out. I had a nose ahead around 1/8th of a mile when my turn came up.
Beat a new Dodge Stratus. Lil' sucker was creeping forward, daring me. I had just pounded that diesel truck and wasn't in the mood for another one. But the light turned green and I watched him shoot out ahead. So what the hec, can't let it go unchallenged. I was going @ 80 mph in 3rd gear at 5500rpms when the merge came up and I was passing him. The stratus backed down, and I laughed good and hard.
And all of these with a fully loaded bed of equipment and a passenger. Never had a chance to race with an empty bed. Then again, it hardly ever is.
But here's the best one. I pulled up to a new Corvette on the highway doing @ 75mph. I noticed his window was half open. So I pushed in the clutch and revved the engine a couple of times. The guy did a double take and started to laugh. Then he left me like a was standing still. I got a good laugh out of it, too.

I don’t usually post these but this one I gotta tell you about. Took the Mother-in-law to the Wal-Mart tonight. She has a 4-wheel scooter so I keep it on a small trailer so it is easy to hook up and take with us. So up we go to the Super W in Hanover. After, its getting a little late and we pull out onto the main drag. This is where the locals run their rice burners and Mustangs. I pull up to a light next to a Honda that has those ground effects and spoiler on it with the Popcorn muffler. It’s dark and the guy looks over and starts revving the engine. The light turns green and off he goes dropping the clutch and burning a little rubber. Well I got the Mother-in-law and the Wife and my daughter in the truck but this was more then I could take. I got into it easy but deep so it held first for a while and shifted hard into second. I went by him like he was standing still. I can hear his engine so I know he is still trying. About then the Wife is giving me the Knock-it-off and we are catching up to traffic so I get out of it about 5 car lengths in front.
Now this is no big deal except the guy catches up with me at the next light and two of his friends are laughing like there is no tomorrow. Then I remember I am pulling a 4-wheel scooter (wheelchair). This fool not only had to suffer being beat by a 5000lb truck with the whole family in it. Then a wheelchair passed him…
It was too funny, even my Mother-in-law was laughing.
Couldn't wait to get home and post it...

WLF, that's a great story! It'll be long time before that fella can hold his neck straight around his friends after that incident.
I would post one of my "kills" but the truth is that I've never been challenged to race anyone in my truck. I guess it's not intimidating to others ???
Heeheehee, the wheelchair left him in the dust. Oh the indignity of it all!
