Dear bobbyboy,

Congratulations on your Superchip installation, that's great! A lot of people are taking advantage of Chris Duke's photos on his web site to help with installation, everyone is very grateful to Chris for posting that helpful installation information. So you had the solenoids, eh? Rare, but it happens on occasion, and you're right, with them on the firewall you do have to remove the battery to access the wiring harness.

With regards to using one of the airbox elimination kits, we highly recommend them. After the Superchip, it's the most coat-effective mod for these vehicles! Either the Airaid or the K&N FIPK kit will get you virtually identical power gains, and cost the same as well, so either one is an excellent choice. And, both kits include the appropriate K&N air filter element, which is different from the drop-in replacement K&N air filter element, so there is nothing additional to buy with either one.

Dear Champ,

Ok, understood. 3800 lbs. isn't a huge load, but it's plenty to put behind a 4.6 engine. With the mods you've done, towing that rig will be easier, no doubt!

Have fun,
