Wink

I owned an '89 F150 4x4 SC/SB, powered by the 302, the 5 speed and 3.55 gears. Frankly, it was a pig compared to my new truck (the tranny wasn't too cooperative when shifted fast and hard). It would however spin the meats real easy which my new one won't. Get off the line clean and you'll own your uncle's truck from start to finish.

I think the 4.6L is far superior to the 5.0.

My '93 F150 RC, LB w/5.0 will barely outrun my '97 Expedition 4x4 w/4.6. Both are chipped and both have 3.55 axle ratio. As long as the '94 doesn't have too many mods, the win should go to the 4.6L.

Cool

Fast45Triton,

I have lots of snow up here and eventually kids to haul around. I would prefer to use this to race:

Sorry to answer for Huckster if you were asking him specifically:

Tina,
The nerf bars are Ford Type 2 bars. I have them on my truck. Can't show a picture though because I'm not sure how to attach it to the message. Hope this helps.

Sasquatch,

Are you sure they are type 2? My dealer referred to them as the 4 bracket, because you can count 4 brackets I guess. They were a $400 factory installed option. I like them and think they look good.

Huckster,
I liked them so much I had to order them after taking delivery of my truck. I've got a 4x2 and I have only seen those bars on the 4x4's. I ordered them through the parts division at my Ford dealer, they referred to them as Type 2, the right hand side part number is XL3Z16450BAA. This is for the complete installation set of brackets, etc. Never did get the part number for the left side. They weren't cheap --> $370.00 + installation and that is supposedly at dealer cost + 4%. Anyway, that is what they called them where I was at, but I still don't know if they are called cab steps, nerf bars, running boards, etc. I've heard all three in conversations with Ford representatives. So I wouldn't say that I am 100% sure that is what they are called, but to the best of my knowledge Type II or Type 2 is correct.
