Beat Again
They call him "Dandy" **** Landy, and he is indeed a demigod for Mopar fanatics. His reputation was made on NHRA drag stips for many years, he got into car dealerships I think, and there aren't many Mopar guru's that know what he knows. Herb McCandless (sp?) is another one, he's down in NC, and he's who everyone racing Mopar A-bodies on the East Coadt has tying the subframes for them, myself included years ago.

also watch out for these striped dodges www.holleymts.com , or anything with a rear sticker that says Mr Norms Grand Spaulding Dodge, including 4door mom and pop sedans.
Beefy150, Just as you seem to be, I have been a loyal Mopar customer for some years now. I traded my 94 Ram, 5.9l, in on my new Ford. My wife has a 98 4X4 Durango with the 5.9l. I loved my Ram and had very few problems with it the 5 years I had it. The tranny did go out at 100,000 but that was the only repair I ever had on it. Not bad for the abuse I dished out to it. A co-worker of mine has a 98Ram with the 360 and I can take him from sitting still, cruising or top end. His truck is very similar to mine except he has no Superchip. I could take him before the chip as well. Unless I missed the point here it sounds like you were just plain ole out horsed.
I can also take my wifes Durango with no problem. The only thing that has passed me is a new Z71 (@#!@$) before I had my chip. I took him by a few lenghts until the speed limiter kicked in. After that, I was sunk. Now that I am chipped, I would love to try him again.

Hey CAF150, nice to read from you. Beefy150, don't despair, I haven't found anyone to show me their tailgate yet, (thank god I haven't gone up against 750hp), or else my truck would be in the shop out doing him and my truck would probably become my home after my wife kicked me out.
Mike I have finally turned 1,000 miles on the truck and the chip is picking up speed. You mentioned to me that around 5,000 miles I'll see the peak in changes, I can't wait. Im sure you saw my newest times at the "strip" (14.9sec @ 90.4mph), well their having an all ford weekend on the 24th & 25th I'll find some new mod by then and give it another go. I want to be in the low 14's or possible high 13's.

Beefy,
The only thing I can think of other than the difference in weight is your rear end ratio. What gear ratio do you have? A 3.55 or 3.73 would be preferable to the 3.08.

Dear Cableguy,
Yes, of course I saw your new times, you broke into the 14's, congratulations! I've been bragging about you, as a matter of fact!
I'm curious, can you remember what the weather was like when you ran? i don't remember if you posted it, but I'd be curious to know what the approximate temperature was. With the current heat wave, don't be surprised if you slow down a few tenths, to maybe as slow as 15.3's, it's normal when it's 90+ degrees.
You've also got one of the lightest 5.4's, so you've got a lot of good things going forthe performance of that truck. I brag about you to others with superchargers! (it's all in good clean fun)
Congrats, and get back to us with your next results when you've got them.

Dennis,
I'm running 3.55s, the R/T is running 4.10s. The gearing will not get me closer to a 725Hp Dodge Heater!
Need to find some Chevy to burn up.
