Question for you northeners!!!

It is just starting to get cold down here in Georgia. What mixture of antifreeze to you guys run. How much antifreeze and how much water? I figure you northeners are pro's at this keeping warm stuff.
Thanks

I use 50/50 also. They say if you go much stronger it will turn to a gel and plug up your rad. It was minus 30 the other night and the truck started fine with remote start.

New Hampshire here and I use 50/50 as well. I think about the only problem people have in the winter as far as with their car/truck is getting it warm in the mornings. If its real cold out, though I have never done it, don't need to truck heat works great, but some people will particially block off the front of the radiator so the engine will run warmer (closer to normal operating temp). I know on most the school buses they have a thing over the front of the bus in front of the radiator and it zips up and I see them running around in winter with them almost completely zipped up.

Same here as everyone else. I use 50% Amsoil's Antifreeze and 50% water. Seems to work fine.

Not sure if it matters for the raditor or not, would not hurt and actually be better.

As far as distilled water, on batterys that are not sealed where you can pull the caps off you "should" always used distilled water to fill them up when needed. Water that is not distilled has junk in it, sometimes litttle metal particals that will degrade the cells in the battery.
