Zaino Question

Just completed the Zaino process and all I can say is - WOW!. This stuff is really great. Did the Dawn wash, Z1, four coats of Z2 with ZFX, finish with a quick wipe of Z6.

I got a couple of questions for anyone who knows:

1) The Z2 process was easy but time consuming. The secret seemed to be as 'thin' coats as possible. Has anyone tried not buffing off the dried coat and just putting the next right over the haze. With thin coats you could barely see a haze. I didn't do thia as it was my first time. But thought someone might.

2) What do you think the Z6 is? It seemed to me to be a water solution of Z2. With each coat of Z2 I could see a dramatic differenece in the appearance. But the Z6 didn't appear to make any difference. What does this really do?

haze,
i've been a zaino freak for almost 2 years.

Did you Clay? That makes a huge difference. you can clay even after you've Z'd.

I really like Z6. I use it between every coat (z2 or z5). And if I don't have time to Z2 after every wash I'll do a quick coat of Z6. Z5 is great for swirls, if you have any. If you've got a dark color I would suggest Z5, even if you don't have that many swirls.

I wouldn't layer Z2 without taking off the existing coat. I'd buff it off and do a layer of Z6 before doing another coat.

Remember to do Z1 2 times a year or every 10 coats of Z2 or Z5.

I agree with TJ98COBRA I would not layer the Z-2. I would think doing so would be even harder to buff off. I just started using the Zaino products and LOVE it. I really like the Z-6 between the Z-2 because it seems to bring the shine out that much more plus it seems even more slick to me then just the Z-2. I have the silver 01 Sport and I have received alot of compliments about the paint and shine especially since using the Zaino.

Both times I have used Z-2 I used it with the accelorator, not sure the Z-# but it makes it cure much faster and also allows you to put up to 3 coats on in a day. I know it does seem a little hard to buff off compared to other polishes/waxes, but with the shine it provides and protection no problem. I wonder if I used the Z-2 alone without the accelorator if it would be easier to buff off? TJ98COBRA what do you think?

I didn't use the Z6 between coats. I just did one Z2 with ZFX, one after the other, for a total of four coats. I know the directions said only three in a 24 hour period, but I didn't read that on the bottle, it was on the web site. But didn't seem any consequence of the forth coat. Then I Z6 the final product.
I agree that the Z6 seems good as a touch up or after the car wash, but I didn't see that much difference after the wax, and would be surprised if it really added anything to the between coats. Wonder if anyone has done it both ways.

I have to admit when I first used the Z-2 I didn't know if I was putting any polish on or not. You couldn't really tell as far as haze goes. Like I said before I have a silver truck. The only way I really knew is with the polish on you could feel it, not slick until buffing. At first I thought I did something wrong, but after buffing I knew I had something on there.

Haze and 01XLT Sport,

I've noticed adding the ZFX it is a little harder to buff off, but it still comes of easier than anything I've ever tried.

I too have silver and it looks amazing. I also use it on my wifes car which is white and it too looks amazing. I agree it is hard to see if you're putting it on, but the thinner the better. I can usually get 2 coats with a about 3/4 ounce on my truck including rims, door jams etc. To help from wasting product I bought 1 oz bottles from the container store. Even if i'm not mixing ZFX, I still use the little bottle so I can measure and keep track of what I'm using. Like I said, I'm a Zaino Freak.

I really like it on my Cobra. Everyone says on Dark colors to use Klasse. I've never tried it. Have you guys tried Klasse?

TJ98COBRA:

I have never used Klasse. Before I bought the Zaino I did a good amount of research on the net. Read many different articles and post from different forums and I would say at least 80% of them recommended Zaino on light colors and Klasse on dark colors.

Just to state again I am very impressed with Zaino and how it seems to bring the color out hard to explane except "damn that things looks good". What was funny was my 13 year old daughter even noticed how it looked good. She never really said anything before after using other waxes on it. The one thing that was funny was when she got in the truck the first time after using Zaino she had said "Dad this truck feels so slick" Now theres some good advertisement, a kid who for the most part could care less about her dad's upkeep of his truck but yet notices a big difference in the shine and how slick it is.

Hey Zaino if your out there use something like " A product so damn good even your kids will notice it and tell their friends, my dad's truck is PHAT"

I would say its the
1) Ease of application
2) Appearance
3) Longevity

Buy it direct from www.zainobros.com
only you have to fill out their order form and mail them a check. they accepted my personal check without holding the product.

I would suggest you read other boards here about the product.

Let me add to what haze10 stated about not holding the product when you send a check.

When I sent in my order and check I figured it would be at least 10 - 14 days until I received the products. I received my products about 5 days after sending my order from New Hampshire. This really blew me away, I mean send a check and order on a Monday and on Friday I had the products. I also had a question about application so I e-mailed them from their website. I received a reply the next day.

Needless to say after receiving the product so quickly, having my e-mail answered the next day and using the product and being totally impressed with the results just proved to me that Zaino is a top notch product as well as top notch customer service.

Sport,
That's awesome when you own daughter notices how slick and shiny your truck is.

I had an alarm put on my wifes car and she's got about 13 coats on white. You can't really tell a big difference unless you're a detail freak like myself. Anyway the guy who installed it asked me if I buffed it etc. I just told him no. I'm the type of person who won't reveal my secrets unless i'm asked. So i told him what i use etc. he now wants me to Zaino his Dark Green Conversion Van.

The other day my wife went to close her door, he hand slipped and she broke her nail. Now that's sweet.

Last night the wife and i took the cobra for a spin right around dust. I've heard Klasse is better on dark colors, but when there is a little orange in the sky it really looks sweet off the black. I think i've got about 20 coats. A guy at a stop light was staring me up and down. Before he could ask I just took off. Sometimes it's better to keep wondering than to tell them.

Yes Zaino is very quick in processing orders. Sal is a really nice guy. He's got one goldmine of a business.

I totally agree with your 3 comments. Ease of use is the most imporant thing to me. Once you get past the initial application (clay z1, etc) then it's smooth sailing. (no pun intended)

Have you tried the Glass Polish? I was thinking of ordering some.

Have a good weekend. I'm going to go Zaino something.

No I haven't tried the glass polish yet. It would be nice to know how well it works. I have used the tire dressing he sales and I love it. I am unusal because I don't like real shinny tires I like them to have that look you get after washing or just buying them, nice black but not dule or shinny. Zaino's tire dressing works excellent, its not shinny, kind of flat to satin and last for quit a while, not greasy, dosn't sling up on the truck when you drive just really like how it works.

Oh, about your wifes nail, better her broken nail then scrathed paint uh?
