Wax on Trim?

Any of yall get wax on the plastic trim? Please tell me how to get this s--t off. I must have used the wrong rag. Its imbarrassing for a Lightning to have trim like this. I might get fed up and remove it all and paint it.

I keep hearing about a peanut butter trick... I'd say it'd only work on plastic but heck, I don't know...

I'm just leary about Peter Pan hoovering around my King Ranch... That's just what I need my truck smelling like...

Use rubbing alcohol, peanut butter, peanut oil, or a natural degreaser. Make sure you remove it fast, otherwise it becomes very hard to remove. A toothbrush is helful for scrubbing.

If all else fails, then hot water and dawn.

I tried peanut butter on some small areas , but I was afraid my highway patrol neighbor would think that I had went over the edge and lock me up! He thinks I'm crazy anyway as much as I wax the truck. Thanks man I will keep trying untill I find something that works.

Scrub the plastic trim with a white eraser (the kind used to erase pencil marks), worked great for me.

Try this

Use the Peanut butter, Helps when you nuke it for 30 Seconds until it's good and liquid.

When done wash off with Dawn and water.
Then apply Mother's Back to Black...... This will work great....

Just a note, Dawn and water will remove wax from your paint if you get any on it.

I used Sani Tuff wipes by Kimberly-Clark. These are hand cleaners that are similiar to Handy Wipes. They have a gentle water soluble cleaner in them. They feel like they have Grit in them but don't, some of the other brands have Grit. I have used them for years on the plastic on the interior of my work vans with no damage and that plastic is much softer than what is outside. I get them from Refrigeration supply houses, and have seen them at Auto part stores.

I've found alcohol swabs work well, immediately followed up with a coat of Lexol...makes for a beautiful 'shine' that is not greasy.

Use one of the Mars white drafting erasers. You can get them in sticks that fit in a pencil-like enclosure. This works and appears to be a permanent clean-up rather than a cover-up. I had used Back-to-Black, and within 2 weeks the wax would start to show up.

Best fix yet!

back to black sucks. You put it on and rub it off until you think there is no residue left, adn then when it rains, it will all streak down my black truck and look like crap. I just use peanut butter. It will last me like 2 months with average rain, or 1 month with alot of rain. But who cares if it lasts 8 years or whatever, because by the time the white starts to show again, i have already glassed the truck again and it needs to be redone anyway. Only takes like 10 minutes to do the whole truck.
