Question Taking care of chrome bumpers and grill?

Hey guys,

This is my first vehicle (2014 F-150) with chrome on it so I have never had to deal with it.

I just ordered a ton of items from Autogeek including Pinnacle Liquid Souveran wax, Pinnacle Cleansing Wax, and Collinite 845. I also got some Wolfgang Exterior Trim Sealant.

Will any of these items work? Any suggestions on proper chrome trim care?

Thanks a lot - sorry for all the posts!

Well that is good to hear....I thought it may be a real PITA. Would it be worth it to hit it with my Pinnacle Cleaner Wax and then follow up with Collinite 845 or just leave it be?

I would wax it just so it would be easier to get the bugs off the chrome.

Alright cool, I wasn't sure if it was okay to use the waxes I have on chrome. Now...for the plastic chrome on the grill can I do the same?

Thanks for your help by the way.

Use any decent non-abrasive wax on plastic or real chrome.

Thanks! I got some Wolfgang Trim Sealant that the guys at AG said will work well on the chrome. I think the Pinnacle and Collinite waxes would work as well.

I started my adult life working in a body shop washing cars...

Sprayway glass cleaner worked awesome on chrome bumpers...its pretty gentle...I would spray it onto the towel then wipe the bumper...

What KCWard said, a little Windex and paper-towel will make them shine. I use a little Mother's chrome polish every spring and fall just to keep them nice and like they said, the bugs seem to come off a little easier.

Eagle 1 chrome cleaner can surely clean and protect it. For additional protection you can apply paint sealant.

When it gets dirty, and if you have a chrome exhaust tip or steps use some P21 metal polishing soap. That stuff is amazing!!! VERY good at removing water spots if you have had water.

My favorite for chrome is cleaning then Collinite 845. Chrome exhaust is another story...
