Cleaning Seats...

What would you guys recommend;
Steam cleaning with a handheld unit
Removing original mat'l via zippers etc and throwing in the washer on cold/delicate (obviously) and hang drying

Work clothes get the seats awful dirty and I wanna clean them before I put seat covers on.

Also if you suggest taking them off does anyone know how to or know of a how to online for it I looked for videos but there were none to be found.

Cleaning them with household/hand held machines usually works pretty good. I use the same machine I use on the carpet in the house, just with the "delicate" hand held tool it has.

I've had my truck for about a year and a half now and I've never done it with this truck, so mine is long overdue as well!

It's a mess from the crap on the boyfriends work clothes, he used to use a towel when he cared more but lately has been slacking. The fabric on the center console is so bad too so hopefully it gets it out maybe I should pretreat with oxyclean. Gonna get some of those fancy carhartt seat covers I think so we can avoid this mess next time.

The best stuff to use is Folex, you can get it at Lowe's. It works very well with an extractor.

Glad to see a F-150 driver on here. But it sounds like you gotta straighten that boy out! If a girlfriend of mine ever made a mess of my truck like that, she wouldn't ever get to ride in it . . . haha
