Detailed the truck...id say B work, but its somethin.

Well i had a whole thread on what to do, lol...but in the end i settled for what i could get locally. Reason being I have been so busy that i kept putting off any kinda polish...and then fri night i had time....so i just got SOMETHING to get something on it for now. I still did clay, which was awesome. Definitely not a A+ overall job, i think i needed a lil more correction then i thought, so gonna look for a DA and some other better stuff here still, do it again in a month or two when work slows down.

Ultimately, i think it turned out ok...its no detailers work, but its probably better then 90% of the cars you see on the road who the owners do nothing but drive through the car wash when it gets a lil dirty or they gotta be somewhere important, haha.

My 3 big questions are:

1) I had like water spots on the windows, and witht he invisble glass or w/e its called i had on hand...i spray it on and wipe like crazy but the outline from some water spots will NOT come off wortha crap. Any REAL good cleaners out there for glass that will remove them more easily?

2) Could I use rain x on my wheels between full details? Seems not only my water, but the water at alllll the local quarter washes is hard, and always leaves the wheels looking blah. If i put some rain x on em, would it help the water leave the wheel faster, thus not drying on the wheels so badly if i dont have time to hand dry em EVERY time...i try.

3) I think i have some static cling or something. Seems like since i did this, i keep getting lil shocks on my door and stuff, lol. Not only that, but i think the dust particles (unfortunately i live on damn dirt road, which is real dry right now) immediately blanketed some areas of my truck...was quite upset. I used a dust mop type thingy to lightly remove them because it was so infuriating....anything else i could....is this normal?

Thanks

Oh, and it really isnt MIRROR show quality obviously because i did it all by hand which sucked. lol. Again, gonna get a DA haha. But it still has some orange peel and what not, is this something you can eliminate with a polish of some kind and a DA? Is it something easy to do for the DIY novice? Food for thought for next time...

Orange peel is a custom option that comes direct from Ford at the factory and there's little you can do for it in the finish you have on your truck.....

I put a coat of wax on my rims when I detail, though I am a D.I.Y.'er too. And what's wrong wit doing it all by hand? More appreciation, eh? (yeah, I want a DA also ) Turned out nice though

1) Rain-X®: Xtreme Clean™
It's an abrasive cleaner

2) Dryshine Tire Treatment
Clean tires and apply

3) Blackfire Wet Diamond All Finish
Almost all "wax" attracts dust. BFWD is a sealant
Don't use a dust mop!...If you must dust paint...
..Use a California Duster lightly with no pressure.

Man to get rid of rain spots you can hit it w/ bon ami soap. Use a sponge and work up a lather. Itll hurt your shoulder but itll be clean when your done. Then hit it with rain-x and you'll be golden.

Use white vinegar for spots on glass. It will melt the spots off.

If the white vinegar doesn't get your water spots off the glass.

Try BKR (Bar keepers friend) Do not get on your paint...or you can try oneGrand Glass Polish..that chit works dude.
