F150 Detail

My first try w/a machine polisher a Griots ROP.

The process I followed was:

Optimum No Rinse - This is the first time I've used ONR and it certainliy is easier than dragging the hose out. The truck wasn't really too dirt to begin with.

Mothers Clay Bar - This is sticky stuff but I didn't drop it because of that fact I think. I didn't know what to expect here but it went faster than I thought.

Meguiars Ultimate Compound w/Orange Pad (Lake Country Smart Pad) then Meguiars SwirlX w/White Pad

Duragloss 105

I used Zep Citrus (4:1 ratio) for the wheel wells and to clean the pads.

Thanks...

Very, very nice. I'll bet that one gets more than a few stares now. Doesn't it feel great?

Hey guys thanks! Yea, I'm pretty happy w/the way it turned out but it was a bigger job than I thought it was going to be. I started out thinking I'd do an All In One polish/sealant but I'm glad I didn't. I'm not sure it would have gotten as many swirls out. The silver at the bottom was a lot easier to make look good. I'm sure it hides the defects more than the blue does.

Anyway, thanks again for the comments...

Matt

Nicely done sir. Thanks for posting shots in the sun, shows the real deal.

Again, well done. Looks like you are well on your way in the worm hold of OCD.

Nice detail job. It feel's good to see the end product. The Dark Blue Pearl on my '07 STX SCab would really pop with Meg's Clay Bar kit, DA, Swirl X and NXT 2.0 Tech Wax.

I would maintain it with Meg's Ultimate Detail spray and Ultimate Quick Wax.

Enjoy...
