2004 Lincoln Navigator
With no disrespect to all of our new sponsors, I figured it had been a while since an average Joe had posted up pics of a non-professional detail here. And, since I happened to finish a vehicle for a good friend today – who gave me permission to post up pics, here goes.
What we have here is a 2004 Lincoln Navigator in everybody’s favorite color to detail – black. The vehicle only has 51,000 miles on it and is pretty well cared for, but let’s just say it was hurting. There was a good deal of oxidation as well as general marring – plus more than a few scratches. You’ll also notice some real problems at the rear edges of the front and rear driver side doors – from the owner’s hands when they closed the doors. Here’s what it looked like before I started:
After 6 hours with my Flex using Menzerna SIP, then P085RD, then Poli-Seal and finally Collonite 845, here’s what she looked like.

Yea, I'm still kicking - and detailing. I spend most of my time over at The Detailer's Cafe though. Since this one was a Ford Motor Company product, I figured it would be legal to post here.

Nice work & cool reflection shots.
And now I have another forum to check out.... Trying to read up as much as I can on how to polish out my truck (machine polish).

Thanks for the kind words RR. Truth be told, I do consider myself an average, um, Tom. Fortunately, I had you, Rockpick, Boss429 and a few others take me under under your wings and teach me how to do this stuff over the years. I no longer have average equipment, but I still detail mostly for the enjoyment of it. I'm hoping that others here see that you can learn how do do it well if you read, listen and practice.
