Post Removing wax from plastic?

Hi,

What is the best way to remove car wax from plastic surfaces? My first time out using Meguiar's Gold Clearcoat, I managed to hit a few areas with deep crevices and the dried wax is now showing itself prominently.

Thanks

(next time I'll be using masking tape)

Same thing happened to me this weekend. Applied Meguires Gold and got some on the plastic trim. Hope somebody comes to the rescue with a solution.

I think the best way is to not get the white dust on there in the first place. A tooth brush will help though.
I use Turtle Wax Color Cure on my truck. The polish is black so no white dust. You of course would use the green.

I use the toothbrush method also. I also use it around my 4x4 decal on the bed sides. It must be a soft bristle, used lightly when on painted sections.

Thumbs up

Yep. Mother's "Back to Black" works. But you STILL need a terry and some good finger rubbing and/or a toothbrush to get that white crap off that nice, textured plastic that Ford uses.

Zaino recommends using Dawn dishwashing detergent to remove wax, although you may still need a brush to get down into the crevices.

Cool

When I get wax on the plastic trim covering the bed rails I use a small scrub brush, some hot water and dish soap, and a painters trip tool (with the edge wrapped in electrical tape) to help keep any of the soapy water from getting on my fresh waxjob.

It's a little awkward to use at first, but it works!
