Talking Chrome cleaning tip

I have had several black spots on the chrome exhaust on my harley from cooked tree sap, cooked bugs, and even once wifeys boot. I use "Regular Easy Off Oven Cleaner" start the bike up let the pipes get warm and off comes the black marks without scratches. This would also work on chrome bumpers (road tar) just use a hair dryer to warm the "Easy Off" and wipe off gently with a soft cloth. Be sure to rinse completely. The chrome looks new again, I am not sure about plastic chrome plated parts but it may work there too.

I have found that carburator cleaner also removes those dreaded wifey boot marks.
You'd think after doing it like 2000 times she would get the picture and not rotate her feet and touch the pipes(v&h drag pipes full length). It got so bad that I have put her some pegs in the frame just below the seat. Give's her two places to rest feet and keeps her from getting so saddle sore.

Just a little late in adding this, but there is a chrome polish that I use for the rims and chrome exhaust tips on my '96. It's the Mother's brand Mag Polish. You can get it at Wal-Fart and just about everywhere. It's not really expensive, but I works great! It takes a few minutes, but it is guaranteed not to discolor or mar any chrome or metal finishes.

Question

Is Mother's Mag Polish or any other Chrome polish recommended for chromed plastic?
I washed my truck today, the first time in a loooong time. It must have been a blistering 35 degrees today. The bumper and chrome mirror covers have spots from salt that didn't wash off. I need some kind of chrome cleaner. Any recommendations?

(Yes, I did a search. )

JimB,
This will probably sound crazy but here goes: ball up a wad of aluminum foil, rub it on the chrome. Will clean almost anything off chrome. I use this all the time.

Wink

"Never-Dull" is the product you are looking for....without a doubt it is the best chrome cleaner ever! (Plus other uses!)

Comes in a dark blue tin can and last a good long time as it is a cotton batten type material inside.

Go out a buy a can of NEVER-DULL...it is the best chrome cleaner on the market...and very affordable!

Never Dull was actually bought out by Eagle Products... it's the same formula, but it comes in a black can with the same name on the outside.

Just an FYI...

I have found Cape Cod Cloths also work very well. They can be found at Ace Hardware.

Turtle, great advice.

Here's another kudos for NeverDull. That stuff rocks!!! We used to polish our rifles before competition when I was on my Air Force Drill Team.

Bubba,
I recommend Dri Wash'n Guard made by Enviro-Tech International. Their number is (888)888-9010 or www.enviro-tech.com. This stuff is incredible. Bugman.
