Help...I've been Keyed!!
What can one use to TRY to get rid of the horrible looking scratches on my Exped!(these chumps keyed my Exped after losing a basketball game to my team and I). Now the scrathes aren't too bad, you can't really tell till you look really hard for them! But the fact of the matter is, I know their there and it pisses me off! Anyone have any suggestions?
Repaint is the only way it's going to look close to new again. I had that done to one of my vehicles and then had to bring it back in another 3 times and demand they redo it before it was close to as good as factory. The whole ordeal took 3 months before I was half satisfied.
Sorry to hear some jerk did that, and good luck.

Depending on how deep they are, they might be salvagable... if they're just into the clearcoat, try some clear-coat polishing compound. This usually only works on light surface scratches, though... it's non abrasive, and takes out brush scratches, but that's about it. Anything deeper than that and you're looking at a paint job... call your insurance company and let them pay for it!

I saw a product on tv (called GR-88 i think), that works as a sort of crayon. You basically draw in the scratch with the crayon, and buff it out with a towel. Looked to work pretty good on tv. It's worth a try for under 30 bucks before you get a new paint job.

Man I feel for you, My 99 Ford F150 got keyed sitting at my friend's house. Three long key marks down the passenger front fender and door... needless to say I had to have it repainted... my truck wasn't even 6 months old... Oh yeah I am still looking for the person that did it... and when I find them, I'm going to do more than key them...

Well I got SKIyed
Just be thankfull you didn't have what happend to me on my last truck. I was at a ski area and some a hole hit my truck with a pair of skis. It put two almost 3 foot long gouges right down to the metal. They didn't leave a note, had to have one side of the bed painted.
I guess thats what happens when you hang out in the lodge after a great day of skiing.

Man that really sucks!! When I first saw the scratch, I immediatley thought of Pulp Fiction when John Travolta was talking about how you just don't F with another mans vehicle! "What I would've done to catch that son of B doing it." Well as for my scratch, I'll just wait it out and leave it for now, it really isn't worth the paint job! It kind of blends in my silver paint and isn't that noticeable, but it just bugs me cuzz I know it's there!
