Cleaning the engine
I need to clean my engine after going muddin'. Any suggestions? I don't have crease build up yet (only 3,000 miles). I know not to wash when engine is hot but do I need to cover the distributor or any else? Also is the the wand at the car wash ok?

I wash mine at the car wash all the time with no problems. Anything metal gets full blast (including painted surfaces),,,everything else (like wires) I try not to spray directly. No problems yet and my engine is clean.

I don't cover anything on mine, I only use full pressure on the motor. Everything else gets gets less pressure from a further distance. No problems yet, I've done this the same way with my last 2 trucks.

They advise not to spray it when the engine is running also. In the rare event you could get water into the cylinders causing a hydraulic lock. Pretty remote chance if one did do it I'd think, with the new long intake cleaner arrangement.

Hey guys, I use the car wash wand full blast all over the engine... except the Airfilter cover it with wrap and till I get done cause of the Airaid... no problems but nothing cleans the engine and under the hood like washing it all by hand...
