Post Put a shine on tires and trim

Not sure if anyone knows about this or not, but MOP & GLO works real well for puttig a shine on tires and trim on a vehicle. Been using it on my 4 wheeler for a while, once dry it doesn't collect dust like armor all and other protectants, and last for weeks at a tie seeing how it doesn't wash off. Just use a sponge and spread it on in even coats, also might want to wear gloves in the process, it's rough washing dry wax off your hands..

Give it a try, and let me know what you think.

Cool

Thanks ,I'll try it. I'm sick of washing my truck(a good 2 hour job when done right)
only to have the tire dressing sling off for
days after. The silicone stuff used to stay
on better, I guess since they have made it last longer,it stays fluid longer.
I've learned a little trick with the silicone
stuff, too. Sounds wierd, but if you spray it
on before you wash the truck and spray the tires with the hose,it will take off the excess dressing without taking off the shine. It seems to stop the oily black sling
mess dramatically. ,,,,,,,,,,98

It's been nearly 2 months since my last application on my truck, it still holding up pretty well. Starting to see a few dull spots in the tires, guess it's about time to put on a couple more coats on them. By the way I'm using the Mop N Glow triple action, it cleans shines and protects. Iput in on everything thing on the outside of the truck that is black, worked really well for me, hope it does the same for you.

Question

Did you dilute it or did you just use like a rag to apply it 100%. I use to use it on my racecars tires.

I just use it straight from the bottle. I used a moist sponge, put it on the sponge, then wiped it across the tires etc. The tires took a couple coats to get it to look even, but worth the effort, still look pretty good after about 2 months, other than a few scuff marks.

Question

Ok Guys...is this a joke or what!

Mop & Glo?? Are you sure about this stuff, I have been looking for a good tire product and this sounds very interesting for sure!

My only concern is that the Mop & Glo will dry out and start to crack on the tires.

Hell...I might just start doing a few floors at the same time...the wife would love it!

2001,

They will take away your truck license if they catch you doing floors. Leave that for the guys who drive Chevys!

I also am concerned about using Mop and Glow on my tires, but think I will try it on the inside of one to test it out. Thanks for the tip.

I was concerned about the Mop & Glow too. Especially after my wife started making fun of me. She knows how sensitive I am about my truck! I figured what the heck, I need new tires next month anyway. Well it looked great. So good in fact I did the factory mudflaps, the front valance(97 f-1), and the rubber moulding on my manik brush guard. When I got finished I had to call my wife to show her. Her reply was: when am I going to do her Expy! I am still uncertain about how long it will last. One other note: it takes several coats to get it right.

I have yet to see any cracking in mine yet. Still seems to be holding up pretty well. I'll have to apply another coat before to long, let the woman drive and got a few scuff marks. It does take a few coats the first time to get it avenly spread, after that I don't know exacly how long it last, but my 4 wheeler has had the fenders done for about a year and it still looks good.

2001,

I really like McGuires Endurance Gel for tires. I really is the best I have ever used. It goes on easily and doesn't turn that ugly brown after a few weeks like so many others. Give it a try really .. I think you will like it. As for Mop and Glo .. I work for the County .. and I don't even carry a shovel in my truck ... because if someone saw it in there ... they might expect me to use it. If my wife saw that Mop and Glo in my garage .. well I wouldn't have time to clean my truck .. but I would have damn shiny floors ...

Thanks
Russ

Question

Clifton Matthews

After all this time, how do the plastics or rubber are looking? Any stains, cracks? How the tires look after months of applying the Mop'n glo product? Are you satisfied with the results?

I have noticed on the plastic, that there are spots that look like it's starting to peel. But use I use a pressure washer to wash my truck, it peels it loose then just apply another coat, it then looks as just as good as the first time. As for the tires, I go ahead anbd scrub them clean about everymonth or so, then apply a couple of new coats.
