Question Front License Plate Bracket

After seeing all the pictures of how clean the front of the F150 looks without the license plate, I've decided to remove mine. I checked it out and it looks like it is held on by 2 rivets and 2 plastic screws. How do I / what is the easiest way to remove the rivets? Any help greatly appreciated.

Matt00Lariat, i agree w/you it does look much cleaner w/o the plate holder.
I took mine off w/a small grinding wheel similiar to what is used to cut through exhaust pipes. Very carefully grind down the rivet till it can be punched out w/ a drift or a punch.
I ended up putting mine back in w/bolts & washers cause i installed an undectable frt. & rear radar w/ a diffuser mounted on the frame holder. Sure works better than it looks.

I stuck my air chisel up on the rivet and blasted that sucker right off.

Thanks for the info, but I'm still stuck. I don't have a cool drill or a tool-time air chisel...maybe a swiss army knife and some duct tape (just kidding). Any other suggestions? Thanks!

Thumbs up

Boss, you are too kind. As much as I like football, I bet I could buy my own cool drill for the gas it would take to get my truck down to your neck of the woods. I do appreciate the offer. Now...if you're willing to buy the tickets to the game, too...

Those two tabs are easy to cut with a utility knife. That's how mine came off

Cool

Matt00Lariet, Do you have any drill?

The lower grey plastic panel comes off very easily by removing about 10 or 12 screws, then just drill the rivets out. I was removing the panel to install a new one with fog lights, but it should only take about 20 or 30 minutes to remove and replace that panel.

Jeff...Thanks for the insight. If the lower panel is that easy to remove, I'll give it a shot with the old DeWalt this weekend. I'll let y'all know how it goes and thanks for the help. (Maybe I should do my driving lights while I'm there?!)
