Question Detailing SuperCrew roof

Was wondering how you guys with Screws work your roof with the ribs in it. By hand, PC with small pad, combination of both?

PC with a pad 5.5" or less. The softer the pad the easier it will work into the grooves and the less pressure you need....and I dont fool with the roof very often since the only time I see it is if im 2nd story or higher and then im too far to see many imperfections.

I tilt the PC up on edge just a bit to get the grooves.

Old Dogg - It's an OCD thing. It would bother me so much that I haven't done the roof as well as the rest of the truck until I got the PC back out and finished it right.

I hear ya. I used to care more it's an OLD thing. I get the edges and places you I can see from the ground and call it, until it looks bad from the 2nd story.

I don't do anything special to my roof - all I do is clay it and wax it by hand with NXT 2.0.

I too will admit that my roof is the place I worry least about - but I have a better excuse. The roof is generally the last thing I do. That means I'm pretty well whipped by the time I get there. So, it gets the least attention.

There. I justified a weakness in that otherwise stellar OCD image I portray to the rest of the world!

Yeah, I haven't done mine in the 3+ years I've owned the truck and every once in a while i remember what the roof on my van looked like when I got rid of it. Figured I should do it at least once before I get any older (54 now). I was going to try getting the PC pad in there first and if that didn't work, I have a few of the LC hand applicator pads and I was going to cut a strip out of one of them the width of the channel just to help clean out the corners a little better.

An F150 roof is nothing, try working on a F250!

Like TS, I worry less about it, but I do work on it...mostly I am in "maintenance" mode with it but I did run into my garage door so I had to do some correction. It is clayed and corrected but really I use something like Poli-Seal on it followed by Opti-Seal.

The DA is the easiest way to go to get it over quickly.

I polished my roof almost 3 years ago. Since then 1 clay, and NXT every 6 months or longer?
NXT last a long time on hard to reach places after clay.
