I like ZEP. It's a commercial glass cleaner I found at HomeDepot (cheap too). My water is so hard you can walk on it, we have well water and this stuff works realy good on the hard water spots.

First, try drying them with a towel as soon as you're finished washing, then apply a coat, or several coats, of Rain-X. Besides having all but the hardest rain blow off, water spots wipe off with a paper towel.

Try using steele wool. I'm serious, it won't scratch your glass and will get everything(from waterspots to baked on bug guts)off your window.

Steel wool does work great but be sure to use super fine (0000). I like to use steel wool to apply Rain-x before I wash the car.
Bon ami (sp?) also works well. It's available at the supermarket. I think the label on the can refers to it as barkeepers friend.
Oil is hard to get off the windshield. I've had the best luck using Windex and cheap really hard paper towels. Soft paper doesn't work as well. Gas station towels or newsprint paper work the best.

Thanks folks ! I'll try them all until I see what works best. The worst water marks are on the SuperCab side windows. I have RainX on the front windows. It works great ...especially living in the rainy Northwest.

Use the Rain-X on all your windows, even the rear window and all the mirrors. It really makes a difference.

Cool

Windows are really my pet peeve (even more than the paint). I can't stand it when I can't see well. Anyway, I really like the RainX stuff. When I do the outside windows I start by cleaning them as best as possible with a glass cleaner. Then use the RainX glass cleaner. I then use the regular RainX. I have had a problem getting all of the residue off after putting on the RainX but a good car wash always get's what's left. I also use a RainX Windshield fluid. This really help increase the time between applications of RainX.

Yes the steel wool works just fine, super fine 0000 though. I work at an auto glass plant and we use it all the time--or this 6000 grit cloth attached to foam pads (sorry will have to see what it is called after the holiday).

Hey, what about a strong solution of White Vinegar and water? That works for me quite well. Although the glass smells like its a little pickled afterwards, this eventually goes awayy
