lol i think they mean you can go off your paint a little without it leaving residue, like you accidentally hit the edge while waxing, not full out applying it. That's how i always took it atleast.

WD 40 works great too, just spray it on a rag and wipe down the plastic

I would rather go with the long term fix rather then the temporary fix. aka paint rather then wax or polish.

Paint will last alot longer and be alot cheaper in the long run.

But question.

Anyone that applied that wax or b2b or anything else what if after you applied it you put a clear coat spray over it. wouldnt that make it hold alot longer??

Is Back to Black just like a diluted tire shine?

I have no clue but it will never touch anything on my truck again. I have a bottle that I am trying to figure out what to with maybe I will use it for target practice with my new toy.

the other side is worse. the ice works awesome on the painted surfaces tho. been using it on 3 vehicles now. EDIT forgot to mention that this pic was taken just a few minutes after i waxed it.
Wow...that does look bad...I have used it alot on the plastic and have never had that happen... Maybe next time i will reconsider using it.

to get that wax off of plastic I used a big eraser, like the ones we used in elementary school. Worked really well on the bed rails and wiper cowl to get the old residue off.

The trick to most of products discussed is a properly prepped surface...ie IPA scrub or some Meg #39 Heavy Duty Vinyl Cleaner followed by some Black Wow but...

After much effort trying to avoid it on the door handles and wiper cowl, PTM is the least work for the best long term look IMHO.

who makes them?
Black Wow is made by Black Wow. Ultimate Protectant is Meguiars. Ultimate Protectant runs if you use it on hard plastic but it looks absolutely fantastic on my soft tonneau cover.

Timmy, there is only one thing that Back to Black will do well, and that's remove wax from plastic. Use it with an old toothbrush. Finish up with detailing spray to remove the Back to Black or it's just going to run and look like crap.
