question

So I got some of the cleaner wax in my clay kit. What is that for? When do I use it? Also was wondering about the MG past wax? When would I use that?

Cleaner wax in a clay kit must be some promtional item. What are you trying to do to your truck? What products are you working with? How are you appling it? (da,buffer, hand application, rotory) Do you need to remove swirls or scratches.

The cleaner wax in the kit is just a small sampler.

Cleaner wax is a tried and true formula that megs has had in their lineup for years. It's a one step cleaner and long lasting wax. I'd say for very light cleaning and wax it's a decent choice for a daily driver and will save you the step of a separate cleaner before you wax. For more aggressive cleaners or swirl removers there are better products.

I use that sampler on my chrome wheels and it works fine..

Txfx4 if all you have is what you mention, clay your truck in the shade. This step will remove the contaminents that washing could not. Now you apply cleaner wax. This step will clean the paint and leave some wax behind. (cleaner waxes are also known as an all in one) At this point if you want to apply a wax it will be up to you just for some added protection or a little more shine.

Do like I do, use it on the wheels...

I gave you some suggestions in your Wax thread.

I really like the M205 for polishing and NXT 2.0 or the Mirror Glaze #21 Synthetic Sealant for protection (professional version of NXT) . Both are extremely easy to use by hand. Only difference between #21 and NXT is #21 is formulated to also be used by orbital, NXT 2.0 isn't.

I use the clay bar at least once a month
Why so often? I clay maybe twice a year. You realize each time you clay you remove all wax/protection. Most quality waxes last more than a month, so why strip it off once a month?

Lol PLEASE tell me when you figure it out I have a new 2008 2 door Honda Accord Coupe in Silver. I get complements on it daily, you can see the flake in it when it hits the sunlight and there is no swirls or scratches, its almost perfect but im never satisfied. Silver to me is impossible to make pop. I guess im just use to black.

Ice is junk, I have a full bottle and for some reason I wont through it out. Megs 205 is one of my favorite products and is very easy to work with. You should get a PC 7424xp it will bring your detailing to a whole new level. Very easy to use and for the most part very safe. There is another product you can try Poorboys White Diamond, this will make your paint stand out even more. Good luck, if I find out a better product for silver i`ll let you know.

If you are working by hand with consumer grade products, I'd clay, then use the cleaner wax, then NXT 2.0, then a pure carnauba such as Megs Gold Class. Allow the NXT to cure for 12 hours before using the carnauba.
