Yesterday I was going to detail my truck with the DA and #80. I Black Wowwed all the plastic first and then the blue tape wouldn't stick. So I went ahead and polished and waxed the paint without masking off the plastic. What compounds did get on the trim came off very easily with a MF towel. The freshly applied Black Wow wouldn't let anything stick to the trim.

As for getting it off if it's already dried on, Black Wow or Back to Black and a lot of rubbing works. Both of these will leave streaks after it rains but you can't have everything. Just try to wipe off as much as you can.

The only reason Black Wow will streak when it's used like this is you have to use more than you are supposed to.

I spread it as thin as I can and wipe off as much as possible. If that's still too much I'll just have to live with the streaks. It's worth it for what Black Wow does.

I'm suggesting you use an alternate method to remove the crud - THEN use Black Wow as per instructions.

I'mal throw something out there that you all gone laugh at till you try it. I work on boats for a living and detail as well. Try a little peanut butter on all your plastic it will be back to new and stay that way for months. Don't laugh just try it.

Do you use a butter knife and just spread it evenly, or apply a bit to a cloth and rub it in?

The peanut butter itself sounds like it would be hard to remove from the textured plastic.

Does it work on textured plastic? I can see how the oil in the peanut butter would probably absorb into the plastic to bring it back to black, and the dryness of the peanut butter itself acting as a cleaner.

I'm going to try it too. I'm just worried about all the wildlife being attracted to my truck afterwards!
I'll be one grumpy internet keyboard warrior if this was all a joke

I'll try to remember to take before and after photo's. I may even try it today after my truckload of crap I need to take to the dump. I'll try this PB thing out afterwards, just incase it attracts bears.
