Best AIO out there?
I am going to get my dad a 7424 for X-mas - he is tired of rubbing by hand and I keep telling him he needs to get a better machine than the Wal-Mart deal he currently uses. Becasue he is not gong to be willing to do a multiple step process, what is the best AIO out there for a single step application on various color cars?

Gotcha, I think I am going to go with the Flex instead, an orange pad, and couple of white pads and the D151. If I am not mistaken 151 is pad dependent. The Flex will let him get results quicker and the I like the simplicity of one product and change pads to suit.

An orange pad generally won't finish down all that nice. You may end up with some hazing. Assuming you're talking Lake CCS pads. From my understanding, Megs PRC 151 is a decent AIO for correction purposes but offers little protection. Another one to look at is Optimum Poli-Seal. Kind of the opposite from 151, it offers less correction properties but more protection. Maybe HMW will chime in since he has more experience with the two.

I second these, it really does depend on how much correction you need, just remember, AIO's don't really cut that much and have fillers in them.
Another to consider is PB PwS, it has very, very little cut but makes a great finish polish and adds a sealer.
M105 is fantastic and much more cut that any of the above listed. It also finishes well so you can go right to Sealer or LSP pending on your pad choice.

If all he is going to be using the Flex for is application of an AIO product, why not just put that money toward having his rig professionally detailed? With good washing technique he should have no trouble maintaining the finish by hand.
As for what is the best AIO, I find myself reaching for Poli-Seal more often that any other. It does offer some swirl removal, adds a good bit of gloss to the finish, and offers excellent durability.
Megs D151 will do a better job of correction, but doesn't offer much protection at all, requiring it to be followed by another LSP. That really defeats the purpose of an AIO IMO.

If he only had one or two vehicles, I would definately pay someone else to do this, but he is also wanting somehting better to use than Wally world polisher on all thier vehicles. When I say all thier vehicles, this includes (off the top of my head) a F-150, a Taurus station wagon, an Explorer, an Expedition, and a Thunderbird. Plus, he has a 30X60 shop that we keep all our old Mustangs in which includes a 70 Boss 302, a 65 K code GT coupe, a 67 Shelby, and a 68 1/2 R code GT fastback - I do not want anyone touching these cars but us. Too many peple out there that claim to be detailers. He is alomost 70 and still believes why pay some one to do somehting when you can do it yourself.

give the guy all the info he can handle, let him [make him] read the stickies. Get him to Rick's site[ADS}, let him buy the best DA package he can afford. Get him on the puter, here, the cafe, MOL site, read, read, read, ask, ask, ask. Then he can decide: showroom finish or protection. That's a start, not being a wiseass here.

Klasse AIO gets my vote all the way around, while it doesnt offer as much correction as say D151 or Poli-seal, I think it is better for longer lasting protection and looks. http://autogeek.net/klasseallinone.html
