Detailed the Excursion

Kind of tough to get great pictures like some of you guys with darker colored trucks get, but here goes.

Process was the Meguiars 3-step over the counter stuff. Got it at Wal*Mart. Applied with the G110 polisher I bought in a kit from one of the sponsors.

There was a fair bit of swirling all over the vehicle. Instead of spending 16 hours attacking all of it everywhere, I decided to do the initial (cleaner) step all over, then the second (polish) step in selected areas where the swirling was particularly bad. I had clayed the horizontal surfaces of the truck a couple of months ago, so that was pretty good.

I'm generally pleased with the results for a first effort. However, it's not perfect.

PS. If I may ask, what do folks use to clean up and restore non-black plastic cladding? Most of mine is beige.

Glad you did it, it's habit to post that around here.

I don't post here often sorry if you don't get my sense of humor.

I'd hit that plastic with either H.D. or Meg's #40. Either I think would look fine. Try em' and see if you like. Especially since you already have H.D. on hand. I've used it on Gray plastics with nice results.

Looking good.

If you get a polisher, get a DA - and if you use a DA, there are better products to use than the Megs DC set.
