Bugs B-gone

Well today I washed the truck and went to work on my bugs on the bumper. I was going to use my old reliable seafoam bugs b-gone.

But then I remembered seeing a post or two here before about using a dryer sheet and with the weather turning colder and the bugs getting fewer, I decided what the heck, im gonna give it a try.

Im a believer... who would of thought...im amazed...Simple and very effective

But I do have a few questions..

1. Who is responsible for waking up one day and saying to self...self I think I will try a dryer sheet on the front of my bumper to remove the bugs.

2. Does anybody know if there is any long term problems from using a dryer sheet all the time. I cant believe that the chemicals in the sheet could be any
more harsh then some of the chemicals we use for cleaning our vehicles.

3. Does it work on tar?

4. Can I use it on the windshield, or will it leave a haze?

Thanks to whoever for a truly wonderful idea and helpful tip.

I just started using a dryer sheet on my front bumper the last two times I washed the truck. You are right, it does work great. I used to spend more time getting the bugs off the front than I did cleaning the whole rest of the truck.

So how are you doing it... just get the bumper wet and soapy with the mit then scrub with dryer sheet?

I just got through washing my truck and I used the dryer sheets and now I'm a believer. My front end has never been so clean.

It Really Does Work

After reading this thread, I promptly went outside with my "Bounce" sheet and gave it a try on my grill and headlights. Immediate results with very little effort. I will keep me a ziplock full of softner sheets with my cleaning stuff. I have a window scrubber and squeezie, and wondering about placing a couple of softner sheets on it for cleaning bugs off my windshield. Any other ideas?

Dryer sheets rubbed on your skin keeps all kinds of biting flys away too.

They are also good for keeping rodents out of your boat while in storage.

Just be sure to put a good coat of wax on there as the PH balance of the dryer sheet strips off any protection you had before using it.

Wet the truck, wet the dryer sheet good & then wash off. Also it does work good on the windshield as well w/ no streaking or hazing.

Dryer sheets work well and also Turtle Wax bug and tar remover.
