mustang convertible top treatment

i posted in the general discussion section cause i thought it would be a violation of forum rules but one response said to throw it up here so here goes.

i have an 06 mustang convertible and despite garaging it the top is not as dark and black looking as when i first bought it. my question since so many of the f150 owners on here also have mustangs is what product will bring back the new look without streaking down the paint in the rain?

thanks

303 Aerospace makes a convertible top cleaner for cloth tops and vinyl tops. They also have a protectant which will help as well.

Ragg Topp also makes a similiar product

Ragg Topp is very good... 303 or Vinylex are also decent options.

Never heard of Vinylex. Is that an over the counter product?

Thanks for the info. How does that hold up when it rains? Any streaking?

Like nearly all of the protectants these days, it's water-based so, it'll get a tad blotchy with rain. I'm not sure I've found a 'perfect' exterior dressing with great water durability. IMO, they're non-existant.

Some do better than others, though...

Meguiar's #40 is really one of the better products from a rain durability standpoint, IMO. I just don't think that it protects as well as many of the other products on the market.

303, Vinylex, Ragg Topp, #40, and a host of others... they're good products but they all have a downfall. Some streak horribly. Some are difficult to get 'even-looking'. Some are dust magnets. Some streak/blotch horribly with rain/dew...
