Why is my paint looking cloudy?

I noticed this morning with the morning sun hitting the truck that the whole thing looked cloudy like. Is this halogramming (sp) that I'm seeing. I tried a search about this but I can't find anything. If it is, how do I clear this up. If it's not, what do you think it is? I'll try to get some pics up tomorrow but I definitely want to try and correct whatever it is. Thanks guys

Ok, Do you have a DA (or any kind of machine buffer)?

OR has your truck been detailed by anyone (such as a dealership or anything)?

It is possible the hazing is from too aggressive of a pad/product combo. For example, Meguiar's #83 with a Lake Country CCS Orange pad will haze the CRAP out of the paint.

It's been since April since you've done anything?

Try a quick detailer and see if it clears up. If not, its time to buff again

With the exception of weekly bath's, nothing! Except the roof and the AZ trim which I didn't do originally. I've put a total of 3200 miles on her this year and if she's not at home in the garage then she's usually at work under the carport, shaded 100% of the day. The truck looks awesome but when the conditions are just right, WOW, the paint looks awful IMO.

I'll try the detailer but I aint touchin' the PC again until I figure out what I did wrong in the first place. Thanks

I'd be willing to bet the detailer isn't going to do a thing.

Did you just now notice this? Or is it something that could have been like this since you buffed and just never would have noticed?

I think I found your problem. PC and orange pads. Assuming your using LC pads, orange is a cutting pad, and is too much for the Megs DC system.

What pads and products do you have available?

Fully agreed.

I suggest using a Meguiar's yellow poishing pad for the first and most abrasive step, and then using the Meguiar's tan or black finishing pads for the final 2 steps. The DC "polish" (step 2) is NOT abrasive and therefor should not be used with an abrasive pad.

Really? Impressive, hell if a QD doesn't correct the surface, just wetsand it.

(the above was littered with sarcasm)
DO NOT WETSAND......again see the line above....

I noticed it awhile ago (couple months) but have only seen it maybe 3 or 4 times due to lighting conditions.

I do have a couple of the black pads and I bought a gallon of the Megs Speed Glaze #80 which I have never used.

Very helpful information. I will give this a shot.

Yeah, I don't think I'm quit ready to do anything that drastic (besides, after this little mess I've created, I'm a little on the apprehensive side now when it comes to paint care ).

You might have left the product on too long also. I use the 8006 pads for 80 and 83, then the 9006 for wax applying.

GAWG no...I am no way experienced enough to take that on...my post was pure sarcasm. Sorry.

As for my surface, over the past 5 months, I have learned more about what I don't know regarding taking care of the paint. Now armed with the right ammo if you will.
