Vinegar (household)will remove most waterspots on glass & paint without damaging paint. If that doesn't work, use tooth paste- any brand. It has the same polishing compounds that glass polish has & will remove the stains from the glass very effectively.

The easiest way is to put the vinegar in a spray bottle and use it just like glass cleaner. Use white household vinegar, not red wine vinegar.

On hard to remove spots on glass, I use Bar Keeper's Friend applied with 0000 steel wool. It usually works for me. Just make sure you keep the steel wool on the glass only.
