Flex versus 7424 with 4" pads

I have been really looking at the Flex really hard lately but I just can not seem to get over the price. Can anyone give me some insight as to how the the G110 or the 7424 with a 4" pad would compare with the Flex as far as swirl removal and minor paint correction go? It also seems to me that a PC with a 4" pad would be a hell of a lot easier to get into tight places, whereas the Flex with the 6.5" mandated pad wouild be pretty tight at times.

I use both the flex and G100 with 4" pads. I have used the G100 for a few years but recently bought a flex and what a difference. The flex is awesome! The G100 is used for small areas and polishing glass.

I can't justify the cost of the Flex when I can pick up a rotary cheaper. But then I already have the 7424 which gets me by just fine for now. I use 6.5" pads with success but would really like to get some 4" pads for tighter areas. They would be nice for above door handles, and pillars especially, as well as corners that bigger pads just can't get.

I wasnt getting anywhere with the 7424/6.5" pads. I finally got the 5" pads and it made a big difference. I'm going to order some 4" pads and 3.5" backing plate tonight. It takes me too damn long to polish out swirls with a pc. I was thinking about stepping up to a Flex or rotary but I dont have the extra money to spend on that right now.

From what I am hearing, if I want a machine that can remove swirls and minor scratches relatively quicky, the Flex would be the way to go. The idea of being able to step back to a 4" pad is kind of nice though to get to those tight areas and I have heard that paint correction is a much easier task with the 4" pads.
