That box is called an RV box with the slanted top...It is a TrailBoss brand (made by better build to their specifications) TruckGasm sells them. Ordered it one day, picked it up the next day already sprayed.

Dave treats you like family.

Thump, the logos are not under the liner, they are sprayed after the liner is already sprayed and textured. A template stencil is used and they spray the logos.

Sorry to keep asking you questions, but how much did that run you if you don't mind me asking? I really need a new box.

Even as a rough estimate that's a good price. That box looks quality. Thanks bud.

There are much better boxes out there, however, I needed the RV style with the slanted lid. There are only 2 companies that make it.

I definitely do not need the slant lid with a 1/2 ton, but it looks slick. I don't know how I'd use that,

The benefit of the slant lid is viability...I don't see the box when looking i the rear view mirror.

Well, it does a little, when you are jackknifed to park the king pin has to clear the beds. But the trick is to not put yourself in that position, its can be bad.

Ok, back to topic for a moment...

This is a photo of my neighbors Jetta, obviously it is a tad dirty but you can clearly see orange peel.

What year is it? my sister has an 04 TDI and she was here today and hers doesn't have it either. Both of mine were 05.5's. I am still trying to find a good picture of one of them.

Blue150, I really hate to keep going back and fourth with you here. But MOST paints on modern cars are going to have some orange peel. Even high end cars like Jags, BMW's etc.

It's put there on purpose to hide some of the imperfections of sheet metal.

The effect of Orange Peel is dependent on many factors when applied at the factory. Temp, Humidity etc.

I can show you many different cars/brands with Orange Peel. I take close ups of every car I work on.

Here is a picture of a 65K BMW door

Tell me what brand of car this is? (the white one)

Hint, its 1/3 the price of the 65K BMW.

I think I would take Attworth up on his apprenticeship offer.

Hmm. Now you have me questioning my own sanity. Maybe I am remembering wrong. Hell, not sure anymore. I understand why it is there, I just really did not remember my Jetta having it at all. But maybe it did and just not as noticeable. I am still looking for the picture. lol If for no other reason, than to satisfy my own curiosity.

Seriously, I am not trying to be a Forum bully or anything, but its there. Even if it's very slight it's there.

It pains me to tell you this, but the BEST paint on a truck I have ever seen is on a members truck. JWool has the best Ford Paint I have EVER seen on a Ford product. Not sure what happened with his truck but I know the surface very well. It does have great paint, and its black. Hell, maybe its my skill that reduced the appearance of it.

Call me crazy but there is VERY little Orange peel in this photo of Black Paint.
