My father-in-law is an autobody repairman and he uses a product by Dupont called Prep-Sol for these purposes. It is made to clean contaminants such as glue off of paint and works great. I've used it on paint several times and even chrome and aluminum a time or two. It is available locally here in NC but not sure about elsewhere. It's not extemely expensive but I think the smallest available is a gallon. Unless you are using it commercially you wouldn't use that much over the life of your vehicle

Allow me to get this thread back on track as I somewhat hijacked to show that LT can be used safely....my point was on paint transfer and I apologize for hijacking the thread. I have no idea how to solve removing pin stripping and agree that LT shouldn't be used in this manner. 2Stroked does bring up a very valid point. Using harsh chemicals to remove pin stripping is not a good idea and if used improperly, will do major damage.

Does anyone else see the photos from the op or are they now gone?

(2Stroked) got your note, you're right, wrong thread for this suggestion, my error)
