few scratches and swirls, and crease

I have a 98 black f150 that looks real good from about 20 feet away but i want it lookin straight up sexy, i have a few light scratches and swirls i dont know how to get out and need some advice. I figured just wax wouldnt do it and i hear you all talkin about all this clay bar, ssriw02309r82342 hyper drive with the yellow pad, basically im not sure what it all means but im willing to go out and buy some new supplies if its gonna make my truck look good. also i have a crease that didnt scratch the paint too bad back on the bed on the 4x4 sign i was wonderin if anyone new how to get out.
thanks a bunch
Alex

My advice, read the sticky. Many times.

Then, search for a thread called 06 F150 Transformation. In this thread, RR told everybody how he turned my truck into what it is today (see sig.) It was similar to what you describe.

Next, you'll need to go to a few different websites and see the products we're talking about.

ADS Carries mostly Meguiar's stuff.

SM Carries some higher end detailing products.

Wax Station Carries many products.

Check it out.

Alex, I can appreciate your sense of humor. Do you have any photos in the direct sun of paint and this crease you speak of, not sure what your are talking about.

Here are those photos of attworth's truck
http://s188.photobucket.com/albums/z.../tonys%20f150/

view all.

Agree, please read the sticky and some of these acronyms will make much more sense and so will the process of detailing.

Where in Kansas are you?

Read the sticky too so what we tell you after looking at the photos will make more sense.

Giving advice on detailing is easy, you'll get lots of opinions from lots of different folks.. For your specific questions, its hard to tell you want to do without seeing what you are working with and even then its really based on what we see. Try to be very specific and as detailed as you can.

I can tell you that this part of F150online.com is a VERY serious section. We take detailing and caring for our paint very seriously. So if you are serious and have some basic skills and knowledge you can make vast improvements to your truck.

You have an 08 right? are you the first owner?

If so, you are doing the right things by taking care of it now rather than later.

Alex, I live in Spring Hill just south of you and I have a G100 DA that I would be happy to let you experiment with when the weather here in KC turns nice enough for a good detail. Needs to be well over 50 degrees to get the full effect of the products. Send me a email and we can discuss more on your situation. You are off to a good start by just reading all the info in this forum!
